I would never make attractive a SeaLife
I bought a SeaLife and straight away found out that it was not a good camera to take pictures in a lot of conditions.
If you are a diver who plans to take the Underwater Photo Danger Course, DO NOT buy this camera, since it will not give you the possibillities to get out of the camera's settings.
Soon after the camera was off the manufactures' guarantee, water got into the seals of the camera, and the camera started malfunctioning.
SeaLife could not do anything about, but to offer a $[...] plugola, if I bought another SeaLife. I got really upset because the camera could not even go for repair.
Check SeaLife's website and you see they offer rebates on any SeaLife camera on a selling-up, working OR NOT.
I spoke to the representative, and said the camera was an expensive disposable, she did not disagree with me.
I would never propound a SeaLife.

Container is Touchy
I bought the camera and showy kit together. The first time I used the camera, the housing got a tiny bit of water in it (a few drops) but it was salt not be sensible and the camera was fried. SeaLife replaced both the housing and the camera (their service department is great!). The first rhythm I went to use it on a recent trip, the housing leaked in the rinse tank. The dive seek owner was there and I asked him to open it with me. Neither of us saw anything wrong with the O-ring. Camera recovered since it wasn't on and it was up to date water. I used both the camera and housing the rest of the week. I've had housed cameras for over 20 years and this is the only one that has leaked on me so I do recognize how to prep a housing for diving. A fellow diver who is also very careful with the O-ring had a similar question with his DC-800 - random leakage with no apparent O-ring issue. It appears that the housing is very sore and I keep hoping that it won't leak again.
It takes good pictures underwater and I've had it down to just over 100 fsw. so I can second it. You just have to be very careful in sealing up the housing. One suggestion the service tech had was to squeeze the quarters shut and not depend just on the latch to seat the O-ring.

Xcaret
Bought the camera for my daughter who is working in Cancun Mexico at the fall back on Xcaret, she works with sharks and other marine life. I was amazed to find out that this is the type of camera Euphemistic pre-owned by divers and the marine park. They were exited of the size, and quality of the camera. During my stay with my daughter we swam and trie the camera out (in the top and out of the water). It took beautiful pictures in the water and out. Video quality is great also. (We did not study the video underwater), but if you are looking for a sturdy camera, this is the one! It was a great choice.

Sealife DC 800
Whole the camera performs very well and I would recommend it. I do wish you could go from video to picture to display while the camera is in the shelter. Also, if you receive a message that your memory is full and then the camera goes off; remove the battery and chip and succeed them. This will reset it.

penetrating 4 me
I bought this camera preceding to going to Maui.
It took some very nice photos in the shallows. Once you get to around 50 feet or deeper, the colors are entirely washed out. I tried various settings, but didn't find one that was good. I did not use a strobe or extra lights.
It was light to switch between video and photo mode. And downloading the pictures to my laptop was easy.

Austere but effective
I have a Canon A570is and a SL960 ostentatious. The flashlink (SL962) is the bridge between these two. Basically, it is a fiber optic cable but the design is such that it is homely to install and remove from the camera when it's not needed. I highly suggest this if you have a Sea Life Flash. I'm giving it 4 stars as an alternative of 5 because I believe it is priced a little expensive for what you get.

Employment Great, but not long enough
I was having digest issues inside my camera which really worried me. I bought new moisture munchers, and they labour great. As long as you keep a current one in, there is no condensation in the camera housing. I just wish the desiccant lasted longer because you only get 2 or 3 uses out of it before you want to replace it.

Works well (with Canon S90 and Canon-branded underwater receptacle)
I toughened these in my Canon underwater case with my Canon S90 - there's room in the case for one along the rear honourable side of the camera, where it won't interfere with any camera functions, and if you're careful, you can fit a second one along the top of the camera (you have to be careful to pitch the case to the side so that the desiccant pack slides to the right before extending the flash, but once the flash is up, you're advantageous).
Never saw the slightest condensation on the inside of the case while using these. Each pack worked for about two or three dives in be attracted to French Polynesian waters before it started to fade from blue towards white (and not, as the instruction said would find, from blue to pink).
These thoughtfully come packaged in a resealable zip-lock-style bag to keep the firsthand packets safely away from atmospheric moisture until you're ready for them.
Highly recommended.

these worked chicly for my Sealife DC 1000 and used 2 in 10 days of water time. Well worth it! dont' let moisture favoured your housing ruin your investment and memories!

Works well but not reusable.
These exertion well and are small enough to tuck inside the waterproof camera we use. It comes in a resealable bag to keep them fresh until needed.Their only impediment is that they are single use only. Silica gel can be reused many times by simply warming it up to drive the water out. Why not these?

to lay hold of a string from the wide-angle lense to the camera.
Due to the lense blocking out the flash you will have occasion for to take the lense off frequently in order to take flash pictures. If you don't attach it to the camera it is fairly plain to re-mount it incorrectly and have it fall off.
Fortunately someone else on my dive found mine and returned it.

There was skilful apparatus today at Sunset Bay. 11 kids and adults for the Track down Scuba, 7 for the Sealife camera shootout match, a boatload of miscellaneous for the plummet, lots of kids to have their occasion to have a photo with the mermaids. On top pf all that the 4 adjoining kids who got certified since last years Nightclub FEst were presented with their C cards and in a floor were settled a stingy evidence from Jewellers Cosmopolitan! A horrible day and the conventional wonderful warmth from Sunset Bay. Thanks Frederique and Marcella!

I just bought a sealife underwater digital camera, should I buy a strobe also?
Q: I well-deserved bought the DC800. Will it take good photos underwater without a flame or strobe. The strobes cost around $300 so I don't want to buy one unless its positively needed. Thanks.
A: It depends on where you take pictures. Bank or deep. The deeper you go the less light, also the clarity of the water plays a big part of it as well. Unfettered strobes light up particulate matter more than smaller flashes. From the specs. it looks like a polite camera. Also remember that strobes make the camera more large to carry around as well.
I would try it out first before spending more money. 90-95% of divers who take pictures don't use Strobes. Although the first-class pictures taken are often with strobes.
I just bought a scuba SeaLife DC800 underwater digital camera, but don't know what kind of memory card to use?
Q: Is there a unavoidable brand that works better? Any other info would be greatly respected since this is my first underwater camera. Thanks.
A: Present your manual, it will tell you.
First of all the format must be right, secondly there could be a limit as to greatness - not all cameras can handle really big cards.
I doubt the brand would purport. The speed would only matter if you can (and will) take lots of photos in burst (non-stop shooting) mode.

A: the sea existence range are very good, you will need the flash are with this , the kit is about £300 , shutter lag is not a trouble the and its all rated to 40 meters so you will be pleased.
