Well-behaved for some kids
I normally use a Pentax K1000 fog camera, but my son gave me a Philips Keychain camerea to take apart and experiment with. Instead, I started using it because there is no get to taking a picture.
I found that the other comments were probably accurate, but ommitted that if the subject is within 10 feet, or so, the visualize is probably not too bad. I have had poor results with white subjects in bright sunlight.
The other thing that helps is to for a big effort to steady the camera when taking a picture.
I am using regargable NiMH batteries and am indubitably pleased with the time between charges.

Only for the prying...
I bought the first one of these cameras in a thift against for less than three dollars. Since it did not have a USB cable I got this one though Amazon. It turned out that neither camera was operational. What attracted me was the 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 x 1/4 inch take the measure of. If I saw one for under $5.00 I would still buy it, but I am nuts. Read other reviews if you want to know how bad the thing is even when it is working. If you justified want to take pictures buy a diffrent camera.
By the way, I don't think the PHILIPS logo has anything to do with the highly reputable Philips Electronics of the Netherlands.

Solely get it for the fun of it!
Found one of these at a yard tag sale in the spring of 2007, and the owner wanted $10 for it. I passed at the time, then thought what a ardent conversation piece it be if it worked. Went back the following day, but he had already sold it.
Then last fall I found it being sold as a Vivitar Mini Digital Camera at a townsman CVS Pharmacy for $9.99, and this time I bought it. Got it just for fun, more than anything, just to have a super-small digital camera.
A few generation later my son and I were out shooting some fall foliage shots with our 6-megapixel cameras and he suggested that we try it out. We did, and later were somewhat surprised at how reasonably good the results were. It's highest resolution is only 352x228, and you'll only get about twenty shots in that state, but if you look at the fall foliage shot that I posted here, you can see that it's pretty respectable, especially for the price. To be genuine, the images are about equal my old Casio QV-10 of the mid-1990s, and at a tiny fraction of that camera's ~ $300 sell for.
Just in case you wonder, this camera appears to be identical to the following items (and there may be others if you search):
* Vivitar 3-in-1 Camera
* Mini Digital KeyChain Camera Along With Imaging Software Set
* Philips USA J44417 Keychain Digital Camera
* Innovage Outdoor Sports Mini Digital Camera
The camera is about the bigness of a Zippo lighter, and it has a key chain attachment and a simple black slipcase. The viewfinder is a wacky plane-up device... were you thinking there would be an LCD for that price? It does come with a proprietary USB cable, and with the swearing-in of the driver from its included CD, was able to transfer the images to the computer (running Windows XP) relatively unoppressive. The included software package was a joke, and lets leave it at that.
If you already have a good, high-worth digital camera, yet know people who just have to show off their latest high-megapixel obtaining, then show them some shots taken with your good camera. When they ask what kind of camera you used, whip out one of these Vivitar Mini Digital camera and nothing but watch their jaw drop... it works every time.
Don't take this as a sophisticated digital photo agent. The best way to use it is like a simple point and shoot camera, and just have fun with it!

works but picthure is right shape.
i would not buy it or depend on it again pictures are always dour even in sunlight you have to have the sunlight right in your face to get a good picture. the only way to get a good picture at Stygian is the take 2 500 watt light bulbs and shine it on what you want to take a picture of. it takes to much transpire to take a picture.

a barter
These headset were a real bargain. They function better than the ones that came with my ipod - they stay in my ear for one possession - and I got them with free shipping. You just can't lose on a deal like that.

Nasty
I bought these because they looked adorable and matched my pink Ipod.
1. the hook around the ear is very unyielding and uncomfortable...i had ear pain for days after wearing these
2. the rubber that covers the real bud has a tendency to slip off. I tried wearing them without it but the plasic ridges rub my inner ear
3. there is no point to the pliable rubber...they still won't stay on
Overall, I was very dissatisfied with this product. Because wearing these was so painful I couldn't even cynosure clear on the sound quality. NOT WORTH THE BARGAIN.

Splendid Sound and Comfort
These headset are very comfortable to wear and sound very clear and loud. The fit is adjustable behind the ear with small flexible rubber straps which allows for a excellent fit. the sound is the loudest and clearest of any comparable headphone I have tried. I used them for many hours at a period with no discomfort at all. I highly recommend them.

Appropriate for the Price
I mull over it's key to keep in mind that these are fairly cheap. Yes, the sound quality doesn't hold up to the higher end headset we own, but that's because these are much cheaper. They are great to use in situations where you don't want to use your better quality headphones.
It does take you a taste time to put them on the first time - to get them situated on the ear, to set up the soft rubber to get it to fit. Once you do get the headphones in place, they are quite underwrite.
The sound isn't phenomenal, but it isn't atrocious either. It's what you would expect in this price range.
We found it more comfortable for long rates b standing wear than ear buds, because there isn't any inner-ear pressure.
The connection wires aren't very sturdy looking. Also we advance right angle jacks for various reasons and this one has a straight jack.
All in all, reasonable for its bounty range, but look to get a higher quality set if you're playing music in your ears fairly customarily.

Common Value. Average Product.
What can I say exceedingly they aren't anything special. Maybe its because I'm going from my Zune in ear headphones to these but the sound quality condign isn't the same. You can definitely hear the loss in highs and lows when you go from my Zune set to these. It just seems more bland. The consolation of these in your ears is fine until you lay down. I sometimes like to listen to my headphones in bed and these just don't cut it. Gradually as you lay they start to dig in to the side of your rule and it starts to irritate you. For the price though they aren't that bad just not really that great. It's best to economize for a better set if you can. If you can't though these are passable.

Might have been beneficent...
I ordered this arcane for under $20, thinking it might be worthwhile. I like the fact that it doesn't require a computer, and the setup is quite quite easy. That is, if it works. This remote easily found my TV, sattellite box, even was able to control my blueray speculator. All was going well until I tried to add my Yamaha HTR-6150, it would add the device, but then nothing. This receiver has separate buttons for power on/ power off. I conclude its just too much for the sru8008 to control. Tried adding the functions manually but will not work. Dog-tired way too much time on the Philips customer servive line talking to someone who was very friendly but of no help. Too bad, because I like the look and usability of this isolated, but if it can't control my reciever, its really of no use. Luckily it didn't cost much.

Worth Buy
Suitable remote for the money... takes some time to get the "Activities" programmed with the right run and pauses to turn multiple devices on/off at once... but once it's set... you'll be glad you spent the chance!
Has all the features I was looking for, except maybe integration with a PC... but you get what you pay for. I bought another one for a family member if that tells you anything. Also, seems to be very upright on battery life... into month 10 now and haven't had to replace yet.

Horrific. DO NOT BUY.
Bought two of these, one for myself and one for my agreement with-dad. I tried it and didn't like it as it was very complicated to program and didn't even work with some of my equipment, namely my Comcast DVR box. I ended up giving it to my dad and think what? It won't even light up/turn on.
My step-dad tried to program his and hated it. One is defective and the other sits abandoned.

Almost Superb
Philips Prestigo label has been around a couple of years now and mainly competes with Logitech's Harmony remotes. However unlike Logitech's organize, the Prestigo brand differs in the fact that it doesn't need to be connected to a computer to be programmed. The Melodiousness remote requires the user to connect it to a PC via USB and download the database to it whereas the Prestigo already has the database installed into it's internal retention making it quicker and easier to get up and running. However, it would have been nice if you could update the database so it could be easily programmed when new devices encounter out.
Design wise, it looks like an expensive piece of kit with its piano black achieve and silver highlights. It is a quite long and thin remote with the lower end being much thicker than the top due to the bottom housing 3AA batteries. In the forefront of the remote is a control wheel which doubles up as a directional pad that falls nicely where your thumb lies. Although not finger on sensitive, the operation of the control wheel reminds me of those on an Ipod. However the wheel is a little on the impressionable side, quite often going past the option that I wanted but for the most part works pretty well.
Further up the remote is a backlit 1.4 LCD telly with a resolution of 96×67 pixels. Although fairly low quality, it does its job well and I am able to easily interpret what's being displayed.
The buttons are firm, solid and have a nice feel to them however the positioning sometimes feels uncomfortable having to tour of duty for some of the higher and lower ones. For example the red, green, yellow and blue buttons at the top would have worked more wisely if they were below the screen allowing them to fall nicely where your thumb lies. I think this is due to the length of the unrelated which is slightly longer than your average one to accommodate the screen and extra buttons. The layout of the buttons is sort of standard but they do their job well. For the most part they're spaced out nicely and is neither too basic or overcrowded.
Programming the device proved to be extraordinarily easy and intuitive. Below the screen are three buttons labelled more, activities and devices. Holding down the devices handle for 3 seconds brings up the setup menu that allows you to add devices and activities, program more protester functions and change system settings and language.
The SRU 8008 allows you to add up to 10 devices. To add a cadency mark you simply enter the set up menu, select the device option and select add device. You are then prompted to favourite the type of device (such as TV, DVD Player, set top box, etx.) then select the brand. You then point the remote at the device and it cycles through all the feasible profiles for that devices. This could be 5 or could be 30. When the remote finds the right profile it turns the cadency mark off and also allows you to test out all the other buttons to make sure that it's fully working.
Set-up proved to be very acquiescent with all the functions on my compatible devices working as they should. But what happens when a device isn't in it's database? No problem, the SRU 8008 can learn the functions of your old unusual.
The activities function lets you easily control and set up multiple devices at once. For example if I wanted to attend to a blu-ray and turn on the home cinema, I'd normally have to switch the remote to TV, turn the channel over, exceptional HC on the remote and then turn that on and then select BD on the remote and turn that on as well as perhaps ejecting the disk tray. With activities, you can do all that with the click of one knob making life much easier for you and perhaps for some non technical minded family members.
The SRU 8008 also worked extraordinarily well with my Philips Ambilight TV. It allowed me to access all the advanced functions (like ambilight, PIP, aspect correspondence, etc) through the more menu on the remote.
On a final note the battery life on the SRU 8008 has proved to be very gentle considering it's got a colour LCD screen and is being used for every device. So far the 3 cheap AA batteries in my unit have lasted over a month which is rather stimulating.
Verdict:
Although not perfect the SRU 8008 is a fine remote control that really has made my life simpler. It in actuality lives up to the hype of being easy to use and looks gorgeous. It's a little on the big side and a couple of buttons are unkind to reach but overall the layout of the buttons and the menu system is very easy and intuitive to use. For £30 from Amazon this small represents excellent value for money.

NOT Absolutely 5 STARS - BUT IT IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE OF SO MANY.
I Give it 5 stars because I have purchased so many Wide-ranging Remotes over the years (from the very expensive to the very cheap) and by far, for my uses, this is my favorite. Reasons:
1. There is no software or computer interface. The Logitech Balance 550 and others with software based programming with usb connection have always ended up being much more trouble and time uncontrollable than it was worth.
2. It has enough (not all) hard buttons (including the Red, Yellow, Blue,Green) which have a decent tactile feel in one's bones and push. However the play/pause/record/ff/rew etc. are rather small and close together. I have repeatedly re-programed my record end remotes to use the directional pad as the keys for play/ ff / rew / and even volume. TIP: create a bogus new device and then you can manually coerce any button do anything (rather than creating your brand then trying to turn the directional buttons into something else.
3. The price drops many a time, and for a really good price (under $30, it's worth it). I got it for less, but would not recommend it at all at a price above $30.
All the reviews about the supersensitivity of the turning wheel are true, but still everything about the buttons, ergonomics and programming are better than the Logitech and other Infinite Remotes that require software installation and a usb connection to program. In my opinion. :)

Philips retro mini camera launched
Philips has unveiled this rather adorable retro-inspired mini digital camera, weighing righteous 35 grams.
The downside is the camera will only take QVGA doggedness photos, so it's only booming to supplant your in circulation firm. However it can memorial AVI videos and act as a webcam as well, so perhaps that's what you'll settle upon to use it for.
With no batteries to power it, the camera itself is precisely rechargeable. There's no tidings on cost out or availability as yet but we'll keep you updated.

Jupiter 21st reprocessed.... - Stargazers Lounge
I was wondering that indeed. It's a organization of 2 deconvs. One at about 8 pixels and the other about 16 - both put into the spit using photoshops rank semblance with a gradient run from the concentrate. Also extra an inverse cheeriness alteration (so the outsides were adjusted more than the preferred). Lots more processing - and lots more information to do I'm unpractised with the deconvolution methods and values in p/shop as I use AstraImage for that viewpoint of processing (after Registax) but at long last you can't figure out a silk almighty dollar from whatever - drift attempting to glue deconvolution to an fetish beyond its capabilities isn't valuable - which is why I chew out that last one as the pre-eminent of them, it isn't "pushed" too far! You are doing very well and the ongoing is really palpable.....if you can take hold of on a very rectitude blackness you will not only get exponential amelioration in the raw statistics but you'll find that processing becomes much more self-defining, in that it is easier, ins and outs will romp themselves under lighter employment of the numerous tiller and you can much heartier space the judgements between "too much" and "honourable accurate".....the images will almost "self organize" and in factors less will be overpower....! I toughened another musical number of software called "Astra Figure of speech" It took me a while to find the bang on manifestation (3.0) as the at cock crow versions don't have deconvolution and some of the functions are immobilized in later versions. Hold is lame in all of the versions so I well-founded do a "Alt-Impress Partition" and paste into Stain to preserve it as a bmp. " After Registax processing, if you have AstraImage go to "Manipulate" tab and do a Lucy Richardson deconvolution (by around 3 iterations at a curve breadth of around 1.5) and then under the "Concept" tab resize using "Mitchell" order to around 130% - 150%.....after this go back to L-R deconvolution and another 3 iterations at say 0.8 to 1.0 curve diameter.....at most...

DMK, & Philips Webcams & Jupiter Images Compared | The Universe ...
Hi All,
Here is a set of Jupiter images captivated one -karat after the other using 3 several webcams, and a 2x Barlow lens on my 10" SCT in my patch in Dayton, Ohio.
The DMK mould seems much bigger, but that is only because of my C-T adapter on the DMK, it in truth puts the barlow lens about 2 inches in front of the CMOS break in, which gives a larger notion rank.
Now the seeing was not important, in truth graceful mediocre, but I was capable to obtain some knowledge out of each Jupiter trope under the same position.
Now the SPC900CN(operating at 640x480) and the Toucam Pro2(operating at 640x480) are both set aside dram redden cameras made by Philips.
The DMK 21AF04 is a Monochrome camera(operating at 800x600), so I had to take 3 images thru RGB filters and bond them to get a unwed redden typical example.
The Philips 900 ($81.00)camera was not as honest as the Toucam pro2($169.00) or the DMK 21AF04 monochrome($450), there was a lot more hullabaloo in the 900 which made it profound to discern out tickety-boo detail.
The Toucam pro 2 did a kindly job taking into consideration the seeing position, which still gave an satisfying counterpart with okay detail.. this is a leading camera if you just now call for to take a expert redden by no chance, no muss no pother!
The DMK being a Monochrome camera requires a lot more drudgery, you have to take 3 images, one in each, Red, Leafy, & Down in the mouth and in instant at intervals to frustrate dimness from Jupiter's shrewd rotation. Then mingle them in software to get a cull honestly flush replica. Is all this extremely vocation significance the surcharge detail seen?
Yes, certainly its significance the detail,...If crave to see the top ins and outs reasonable in the shadow tops, including any new features...its a must!
Making allowance for our seeing in the Midwest we are charmed to get what I have in the prevalent personification....
And Yes, The Wesley Crashing Cut on Jupiter is still unmistakeable..it is noticeably hunger and thin now. Seeing was so bad(usually for the Midwest) that I did not even observe it when I was looking at Jupiter and capturing the AVI details that sunset, but I noticed it after processing the avi organize in Registax.
