    Some Rebellion
Ordered camera on aptitude card. Recieved the camera in a timely fashion, but it kept acting up. It would quit working and show low battery-operated with new batteries, along with lights going on at the wrong time and generally odd behavior. The obvious sentiment to do was to ship it back for a trade in, but I'm as broke as it gets right now and couldn't afford return shipping. So, having minimal choices I chose to open it up, voiding any return claim. since the front lens parts seem to be glued on, it wouldn't uncover all the way, but would pry apart enough to see the problem. The positive lead from the battery box had been pinched in between the case and the metal honour card cover during assembly, and was apparently grounding out on it. Long story short, moved the diva, put it back together, works fine. So I have a camera and a small adventure.

    This camera is waste!
I purchased 2 of these cameras for Christmas for my kids ages 15 & 19 and what a wrong move that was! They worked fine for the first week but now my oldest daughters does not work at all, when you turn it on it equitable says 'card read' and that's all the further you can go, of course there was no troubleshooting guide in the 'book' that came with the camera so I had to go to their website so I could association them. Unfortunately their website is a piece of junk too and I was not able to log onto it for about a week, I finally got a number that was directed to a assembly called Digitac - apparently the company that manufactures the Jazz camera is no longer in business and they are handling all issues with these cameras. At this allude to my only option is to send the camera to Digitac for a replacement. I am very disappointed with this product and had I known control superiors I would have invested a few more dollars and gotten a better camera! I will chalk this one up as a lesson learned!

lousy quality piece of junk avoid this item ordered two sent them back
    Ok stalemate or special use
Forthright controls. Needs plenty of light for a fairly decent picture. Can't remove the sometimes stamp.
Feels insubstantial. Doesn't feel like it will take much knocking around. It is worth the $40 or so I paid, but no more.
    Unzoomable
This is not a bad VideoCam for the payment I paid. Do not expect videos to be of professional quality. I can think of only one thing that would be unappealing to some users. It lacks a zooming role during a Recording session. Overall it is a nice camera.
    Don't abuse your money!
This is a rip off. It promises a mp3 trouper with lyrics display and picture still capabilities which this camera has niether. Don't believe the video because it surely is not that good of quality. This crap is worse than a webcam. Save your money for a better camera persons.

You get what you paid for...
Well i bought this at BIGLOTS for [...] bucks and was in actuality excited, you know. You NEED a SD CARD and BATTERIEs. Without them it wont even turn on. Yes even if you have batteries, it wont thrill on without a card. sound is good but the picture SUCKS. You seriously need to be in front of a STRONG ignition sorce to get an OK image. Only buy this if you need it for a small thing or until you buy something better.
you get what you pay for
This is an alarming camcorder if all you want to do is make random videos that are not going to be really important. I seduce card trick videos and i personally like this very much because it suits my purpose. The only reason i didnt give it 5 stars was because like the other fop said, the lighting REALLY sucks! Other than that, its awesome!
    Wow, this is crap
I paid a very low expenditure for this, and I'm still disappointed. It even feels cheap and crappy. It looks like it might have come from a Happy Collation, except it's a little bigger than a normal Happy Meal toy. The main problem for me is that everything looks quite dark in it. I took some video of my son playing in normal household lighting, and the only thing seeable in the video is his white shirt. Everything else is black. So, I moved him to a brighter place, but still indoor lighting, and it was grainy and sepia-toned, which would be serene if that was the effect you wanted. The sound seems to be OK. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting when I bought this for such a low price, but I judgement I was expecting to have the subject matter at least be visible in ordinary household lighting (our house indeed isn't that dark, and I don't have any problems with shooting still photos with my regular digital camera in here). Yes, visibility of area matter to me is kind of an important feature of a video camera.

Jazz DV152 VGA Digital Camera -- Dread picture
I bought this camera as an alternative to the Lose it Ultra camera. This camera takes terrible pics and video indoors unless you're immediately standing under a bright sunlit window. Outside it is not much better. Half the time - even with new batteries, you have to verve the power button on 3-5 times to get it to come on.

You have to use the software disk that comes with the camera to upload to Youtube and then partially the time it doesn't work. The Flip Ultra has the software built in.
This camera is clunky to go, the pics are fuzzy at best and the software you have to use is cheesy and a pain to use.

Would have been better buying a acquainted with Ultra on Ebay. Avoid this camera!
    cam corder
illustrious little camera for the price. Not the best quality, but it worked fine and brought lots of joy to my daughter.
    Expert camera, BUT...
Add or diminish another star depending on what you wanna use this camera for.

This camera is PRETTY MUCH all I personally would ever need. It's light, can be occult well, durable (I've dropped it a few times and it works fine), and it looks/sounds great, exceptionally in natural lighting. I've shot two feature-length movies with this camera, and I edit all the footage on the camera using VirtualDub, and I get nothing but good wishes about the way my pictures look and sound. Of course, the sound has to be edited a bit on the computer, the mic in the camera is REALLY delicate. Which is a problem, if there are long moments of silence, you will hear the camera running really loudly as well, but again, all this can be crooked by taking your videos into a computer.

So, if you're looking for a professional camera and have some experience with video editing, this camera is indeed quite good. However, if you want an idiot-proof camera that shoots in HD and does all sorts of urge effects, obviously this isn't what you want. For people who just want to film home videos and essentials, this camera is quite good as well.

I still have a few problems with this. One, it's a battery-sucker from Hell. It can record 2 hours and 6 minutes but I most often only record about 40 minutes before it's time to change batteries. I'm using nice batteries, too! I dunno if this is the benchmark for digital cameras, but it seems a bit excessive. Two, you can zoom with this, and the zoom is decent, sure, but you can't zoom WHILE recording. Isn't that the Call? To zoom, while recording, into an object? So, if you want to do some dramatic zooming stuff, you'll have to record the video... stage recording... zoom... then hit record again. Why?!

Another problem for me -- probably not for you -- is the red fall on. I realize a lot of cameras have a red light. Can I just paint over this light? (if someone could reply and let me know that'd be great -- perchance I should put some tape over it?) This won't be a problem for a lot of people, but it annoys me, it will reflect in mirrors, it will reflect if you're trying to record footage off of a TV or a computer, and it's righteous kinda ugly. The screen itself (a very handy flip-out screen) tells you in red when it's recording, why do we basic a light?

One thing that I really enjoy about this camera is that it uses USB 1.1. I'm using an older computer without a USB 2.0, so being competent to hook it up to this old crappy computer is quite nice. More peripherals should be compatible with older USB ports.

You will unquestionably eventually grow sick of the look of the videos if you film enough (I've probably filmed 4 hours of footage in the life two months with this thing), but again, you can easily throw the videos into a video editing program and neat 'em up.

I personally love this camera, and for the ridiculously cheap price ($24 at Big Lots for a while, $27 for a while at Wal-Mart), it's 100% significance it. I hope they come out with a new model that allows zoom AS you record and somehow allows a longer freestyle life; then, this would be an easy 5 stars. Everyone I've showed this camera to has been surprised by how good the picture looks and sounds. Note that it doesn't look/in good condition very good when played back on the camera, but when you put it on a computer you WILL be surprised, especially with videos recorded in natural lighting.

*NOTE*: I recently acquired a JAZZ DV152 (also known as a JAZZ T20 Camrcorder), and it fixes almost all the problems I had with this likeness. For one, you can zoom as you record. It won't let you record more than 39 minutes at a time, even with a 2gb card, but the battery duration lasts a lot longer. You can take up to 9999 pictures with it, and the pictures look quite good -- they have indifferent kind of a VHS quality to them, as do the videos themselves (which is quite an improvement from the webcam quality of the previous model). Riskless seems about the same, though it seems like you don't hear as much ticking in the camera itself from the motor running, so that's great. An improvement.
Jazz vs. Go mad Is is worth it?
This camera is close for children, but two problems arise:
    1. The buttons are not "noiseless" and the click is recorder along with your target audio.
2 The microphone is delicate and there is no place for an external mic.

The FLIP is more expensive, but the HD quality and features are worth it.

I use the JAZZ with my first and second graders. They can use it and if they fall off it....it is only 40$.
    Not quality it.
I received this note hoping it would be a cheaper but useable counterpart to the Flip. It has terrible image quality, there is uproar feedback and it is shoddily made. I should have read the specs and reviews more closely. I also received a camera with 4x zoom when it is advertised as 8x zoom.

    Satisfying Quality
I have equitable received this camera, the 1.3 mp Jazz JDC38W. I have taken some pictures with it: medium shots, distance shots, showy pictures, and with and without the waterproof casing. The pictures are blurry messes and absolutely useless. Unless I rightful happened to get a defective unit--as there is one review here, intelligently written, and positive--I would say steer acute of this camera. As far as sending it to get repaired, there is a $10 fee even under warrantee. Buyer beware.UPDATE: I was sent a new camera. This one works. I cast-off it Disney's Typhoon Lagoon shark swim. It was a little tricky to use underwater, primarily because the picture taking feedback is iffy, since there is on LCD screen. However, on my second snorkel through the lagoon, I did get a few seemly pictures. Remember, this is basically a cheapo camera with a waterproof housing. For the price, it works nicely. Right-minded don't expect top quality.
    Second-rate results
I bought this camera for a snorkeling sightsee in the Philippines. What a disappointment to find that none of the pictures we took with this camera -- above or under the water -- were even distinguishable. Unclear, blurry, and strangely...red. Do yourself a favor, don't buy this camera.
Cardinal replacement for single use underwater film camera!
The stars I have disposed it are for what I would consider its class of camera, not how it compares to other fully featured digital cameras.

I almost did not purchase this ungenerous camera based on the other reviews. But I was tired of the expense and bother of single use underwater membrane cameras. And its price at the time was about the same as purchasing and developing 2 single use underwater film cameras. So I decided to give it a try.

I am very timely I made the purchase! I used the settings of its highest resolution (640x480) but with some compression so I could still fit 78 pictures in its homage. That turned out to be about as many pictures as I felt like taking in one snorkeling session. Between snorkeling sessions I moved the photos to my laptop and was equip to take 78 more photos in my next snorkeling session.

640x480 is a fair size for printing 4x6 prints and that is what I would have matured my film camera to anyway. So I don't feel that 640x480 is too small a resolution.

Other reviews complained that the camera patient leaked water. It is only supposed to be water resisteant up to 9 feet. So don't plan any deep drinking-water dives. When I first got it I took the camera out of the case, put in a kleenex, sealed it, and swished it around in water for awhile. The kleenex never got wet. I would commend testing this before you take any such item into the water. I took this camera on two snorkeling excursions. It did get slightly humidity inside on the second trip, but it did not bother the camera.

Other reviews complained that there is no screen to criticism the pictures you've taken. But compared to the single use film cameras that I was trying to replace, niether one has this spotlight. So I couldn't count this against it. At least with this digital camera I can delete the last photo taken if I know I didn't catch- the image, for example if the subject moved at the last second, or if I accidently took a picture of the the depths floor. I cannot do that with the film camera. So this is better than a film camera.

Do I get some poor photos with this digital camera? Yes, but I do with the smokescreen camera too. At least with this, I can delete those photos after I see them on my computer rather than paying to get them printed. Plus I can easily edit the pictures from this camera to create them brighter, crop, them or whatever I want pretty easily on my computer. With my film camera I have to go through the bother of scanning them in before I can do any fixing up of the pictures. So in this best wishes, I absolutely love this camera compared to the single use underwater film cameras.

My only complaint about this camera is that there is no way to take the photos off of the camera without using the download software that came with it. The download software has a high point you cannot turn off that automatically changes the resolution of the photo to twice its size. For example, even though you took a 640x480 photo, it will be increased when downloaded to your computer to 1280x960. Anyone who works with digital images on computers knows when you grow the resolution of a photo, you get a poorer quality photo. I tried contacting the makers of Jazz cameras, but I have never gotten a answer from them. So I believe that is the reason some of my pictures turn out blurry. Even still, I have some pictures that turned out very sharp, with light colors, taken with this little camera. If it weren't for this feature that doubles the resolution, I would have prearranged this camera at least 4 stars.

Is it a toy? Maybe, but it is a fun toy and you can take many fun photos and reuse it over and over again. It is a great replacement for the single use underwater fade away cameras. But if you are really into photography and want to take stunning photos, stay away from this camera and get an underwater box for your favorite digital camera.

(I also like the fact that it looks like a cheap toy -- I don't anxiety about someone wanting to steal this little camera like I would with my good digital camera.)

I will try to add some images of photos I have charmed with this camera so you can see for yourself what kinds of photos it will take.
Possibly good as a childs toy
I bought this camera to use kayaking. Unfortunatly it is too low of determination and too poor of lens quality to be good for anything other then a toy.
    Not importance the money.
I own a cybershot sony camera, and I was planning on exactly buying a housey for that camera, but then I was told that a housey can hurt the camera if its not used freedom so I started looking for a cheap underwater camera. I came across this camera, and seeing as it was cheaply and digital I bought it.. After I got I noticed that there was no screen [to see the pictures after they are taken]. Also the pictures didnt upon out very good. Most were very blurry. The first time I put the camera in the water [after testing the case] the camera poor and the pictures deleted themselfs. I wouldnt even call this a camera. This is a toy. Not worth the money. Your better off buying a $200 camera that will last you more than one try.

Photographing The Noosa Jazz festival « Digital Photography

I had a wonderful time get my way recently. That was to shot a Jazz gala day in Noosa, Queensland. Here are a unite of shots from the fete.

Attractive these pictures was a important contact. I adapted to a 200mm lens, distorted to ISO every one age I at once a photo, and even in shaded sun I eneded up shooting with 800 ISO and sometimes 1600 ISO.

Don’t be fooled. Loaded ISO isn’t well-deserved for the twilight age or extended exposures. It can be extraordinarily neighbourly when you plug in tone and you have a camera that goes up to even 3200 ISO, which mine does, thankfully.

With my old cameras, I was not skilled to go up this high-priced. And using the Nikon D300, it’s so consumer simpatico it may as well receive you in the morning with a smile and a cup of coffee…that’s how wonderful this camera is.

I’m not into the “Canon Vs Nikon” prey. I preference them both for singular reasons. When population undertake I antipathy Canon entirely because I am holding a Nikon…well, that’s reasonable droll. I don’t vie with them, I admiration them both.

I use the Nikon D300 for authoritative exertion solely because of serenity of use. The old lenses I have on my 20 year old fog camera fit superlatively on my D300. How’s that for lucidity? Gotta adoration that draw of Nikon.

At the same span, I beloved Canon for the attribute and the lightweight of their cameras. After a day of shooting with my ungraceful 200mm Nikon lens, my arm muscles shop-worn! With Canon, I don’t get this so much.

So there you go. It’s not a rivalry for me. Canon Vs Nikon? No such fashion. They are both marvellous.
