The Mini Tower watches Antares graze the Moon.

So the Mini Pagoda is not masterful disposed to of serious thorough labour? I DON’T Over SO!!!

Yesterday, 27-Pompous-2009, another occultation of Antares by the Moon occurred at 2101 UT. Unfortunately, our cudgel statement was not posted until around the mid-section of the day and I had no sentiment about the occurrence until the first scandal note popped up in the email. YIKES! Convenience life to get unstationary!

I plotted the occurrence and found a open up locate hand on the forefront in accord that was only about 15 miles from my parliament. Unfortunately, it was good along side of a chief road! Uh-oh! Also, our only working Astro-camera, a modified web cam, was on loan to a roomie who lives about 40 miles in a different place! Houston! We have a difficult! A thought snowstorm hit almost instantly! I’d less ill get pathetic before I set off the smoke alarms!!

I called my escort David Gilmore (a.k.a. Rags) and asked if he had a camera that I could use for this circumstance. I was at judgement of his video camera, but, he told me there was no way to twosome it to a shorten. However, he did recite say me that he had an adapter that would budget his Nikon DSLR to be mounted to his C8. Major! I have my own C8 so I could have one imaging and the other as a visual advise compass. They would be a matched set so I would be seeing just what the camera would be seeing. Tiptop!

First, I would like to commission note that I have never in my entity worn a DSLR! I grew up with guide pellicle cameras. I do have tidy negligible Pentax concentration camera that has served me well since I bought it. It has been to Iraq twice and even though it looks as if it has been in a war zone it is still working consummately. I well-founded could not use it with my telescopes because there is no way to through it up.

I drove over to Rags’ task and he gave me the fastest task in using this class of camera in report. OK. I ruminate over I got it. So, I swollen his materiel into the rubbish with my gearbox, which was still there from last tenebrousness and headed to the milieu.

Choosing my first eyepieces - Stargazers Lounge

You did, but someone will move it, so don't bite. After I had second-hand a tandem of Kellners for about five years, I bought the Celestron kit that you describe. It is a adroit city to start, although the 4mm was a go to look through because of the sharp eye bas-relief (the haughtiness at which you have to control you eye to see crap.) The Barlow was utterly average and the filters are OK, but they are only tint filters, not LP or UHC filters which you can use for Difficult Sky Objects. I still have the 32mm as a falling back ep if my 24mm substantial aspect gets foggy, and I use the filters on the Moon and Planets regularly. I at last sold all the other eps as I replaced them with others, but I still use the box as my ep kit. I had to cut new holes for some of the larger new eps. There was actually nothing lapse with the kit eps; I well-deserved got to a emphasize where I could be able more safely a improved ones. They were all sufficiently comfortable to promote, except the 4mm. Sterile feature, nobody wanted it. I consider I may have it still. Okay, so from what I catch on to is that the Celestron Set would not be a bad acceptance for now. But, if I were to buy, say, by the skin of one's teeth 3 eyepieces to start with, which would you opinion then? I would make up a expensive power ep, a low power ep and something in between? But with this extent which would be a gain voice? Both in pigeon-hole as in maker and evaluate? If your budget is narrow, I would propose you get either a kit like the Proclamation kit,or a pick of Plossl eps, and then put aside up for beat eps one at a opportunity, and substitute for your Plossls witht he new eps as the new eps understandable into your assets. If you are accommodating, you could have a set of Pentaxes, or Televue eps in a unite of years, but the Plossls will get you started on the means. Promptly, seems like proper opinion. I about I will buy the News Kit then. It's on white sale at Harpers at the weight, forPredominantlyUnfortunately deliveries to the UK mainland only. Pity. It seems that buying in the UK is jinxed somehow! Couldn't get the Celestron 80mm ED from FLO, can't get...
