Do you go overboard for the holidays? What did you get YOUR kids?

Q: I was reasonable wondering how crazy some folks get buying till they are tapped dry. I have done some reading on Yahoo Answers and see some those spend upwards of $500 per child!

What did you get your kids this year?

I got my 12 year old: Digital camera accessories (to go with a 3 year old digital camera I upgraded from), Electronic present held 20 questions and a The Fray CD.

I got my 8 year old: A barbie styling take the lead, a birdhouse art kit, the 20 questions hand held regatta and Trouble (the board game).

I'm pretty proud that both will get what they hope for and I did NOT go broke. I spent only about $100 (not including the digital camera)

A: Well I'd say you're doing absolutely a good job. Parents who spend $500+ on their kids are ludicrous and are spoiling their children. I am around the age of your 12 year old and I have to say that I would be quite propitious with those things. Last Christmas my parents got us an Xbox. But, instead of really giving it to us, they gave it to my mother so that she could say "you've played too much xbox, and its mine so get off." and that way it is always under rule and won't be overused or anything. Plus the price was dispersed throughout all of us, so it wasn't too extravagant overall. I think you're doing a great job, keep up the good industry!

Alpine screen pauses when brakes are tapped??

Q: OK, so I installed my IVA-W200 Alpine 2 DIN piece.I used a Metra harness to hook up to factory. My only ungovernable is that when I hit the brakes my monitor does one of two things:
1. When playing a DVD it cycles to the lever screen and then back to the picture.
2. When on any other source (other than video) it flashes to inky and then back on.

I am connected only to a video bypass for the brake wires. No constraint wires are connected to the truck. All the wires are connected duly as stated in the instructions.

The video bypass works perfectly and cycles on in about 10 seconds.

Bypass unit is grounded soon to the chasis.

I have been troubleshooting and unhooked the bypass altogether and unhooked all of my accessories: monitors, sirius, video amp, BU camera.

The only id hooked up is the Alpine HU and I still get a pause on the screen when I hit the brakes.

I am at a extermination. I don't know what else to check?

A: Call to mind by law video is NOT allowed to be on while your car is in motion, it is only legal if car is in park. Therefore SWIM ("someone who isn't me") must accept the blame for your question.

SWIM heard that: Take the wire that goes to your control pedal and tap it directly into your ground wire, that should bypass the rein pedal.

On JVC KD AVX1, it is the green & black wire but SWIM doesn't do Alpine. So sculpture out which wire it is and bypass brake.

(from JVC schematic) "parking restraint wire" and tap into ground, SWIM is not sure what labels/names Alpine uses for the same wire.

Call Alpine tech carry. they won't tell you "how to fix it" but they might tell you what is "causing" the puzzler.
