Product DescriptionAdd the 1.6X Tele-Converter to the front of your 16X zoom to transpose its focal range in the telephoto direction. The perfect tool when it's inexpedient, dangerous, or even impossible to move as close to the subject as you'd like. The 1.6X Tele-Converter alters your zoom's central length range from 5.5-88mm to 56-140mm - with no appreciable light disadvantage. Note that the Tele-Converter offers partial zooming: focused lengths of less than 55mm exhibit vignetting. The Tele-Converter is specially essential in "run-and-gun" shooting situations because it attaches more quickly than rear-mount tele-extenders, and doesn't command exposure of the XL1's delicate electronics.Need even more telephoto range? Add the Century 1.6X Tele-Converter to the front of your lens and Canon's 1.6X Tele-Extender to the end, for the widest possible range -17.6-225mm, with no vignetting.Century Optics .3x Ultra Fisheye Adapter Lens, Bayonet Mount for Sony VX-1000, DSR-200 &...Product DescriptionThe .3X MK1 Ultra Fisheye Adapter offers an abnormal fisheye effect and a high degree of barrel distortion. Product DescriptionWhen you're shooting for a genuinely exaggerated point of view, twist on the Pro DV Series .3X Ultra Fisheye Adapter. The Fisheye gets you the widest panorama possible, with extreme barrel distortion. This non-zoom-thru add-on provides about 1.4mm focal length, 130 degree horizontal slant of view. Note vignetting will occur at the extreme wide perspective fish for. Way out there: The fisheye exaggerates depth, pulling nearby objects sooner, and causing distant objects to recede into the background. A fixed adapter, the Fisheye doesn't concede for zooming ? but you'll want to stay at the wide end of the range anyway, for the most pronounced impression. Customer Reviewsterrific quality, bummer vignettingi had a note2 for my vx2000 (which was all stolen), so i got this to accompany my new dvx100b. there's no question that these century lenses are great quality, but to spend that much on a fisheye and get serious vignetting is a insufficient upsetting. i guess you could always buy their tye evans signature lens that costs more than the dvx itself. Get Gnar Incomparable lens. High quality but vignetteing can be a bit of a bummer. I use mine to shoot BMX, but it's uses aren't reduced to extreme sports. I've had great results on music video type projects too. illmatic i'm using the .3x fisheye (aka: downfall lens) for shooting bmx. so far it's been great with my dvx100b. this lens is sweet action! i used to have the same lens for a vx2100, but i find that the lens for the dvx100b has a wider viewing hunt for. if you're lookign for a kick@$$ lens with a wide viewing angle then perhaps you should stop whining and get a .3x fisheye......unintelligent! too far? in conclusion, this lens is dope......except the lens cover for the back of the lens is rubber rather than of metal.....i didn't like that. the rubber cap is cheap and hard to get off. other then that, great lens! 2 thumbs and 1 foot up. -cole. Too much vignetting First, the positives about this lens. First, the fisheye distortion is absolutely top of the line, there's nothing out there that can match its clarity and symmetrical barrel effect. When using it, I could not see any color aberrations either, it was very frizzy. That said, I was still disappointed with the vignetting of the lens. In case you are not familiar with the term, vignetting is the abominable areas you see around the lens, its the same effect you get when zooming out too much on a telephoto lens, or adding too many filters onto your lens. I perceive that vignetting is going to occur with any fisheye, it's the nature of the beast. I had read that the Century optics had the least vignetting of all its rival's. I only tried this one, so I can not speak for how it compares, I can only tell you that I did not like the performance of this one. In order to get rid of the vignetting in-camera, I had to zoom in 50%, which removed a LOT of the fisheye carry out, definitely not a good solution. So, the other option, is to crop the footage in my software editor. I dropped it into Incontrovertible Cut Pro. Unfortunately, I had to crop it so much, that the final images were not very sharp and I had lost a lot of resolution. Again, not a quality clarification. If anything, I may go buy Adobe After Effects and do the fisheye effect in post production. If the Century is the best out there, then I will not be using one at all.

Schneider/Century Optics .75 Wide Angle Converter for EX1 Recalled ...Yesterday I received my .75 Schneider Sizeable Slant Converter from B&H and I was initially blissful. Why initially you ask? Well, I wanted to baulk some specialized specs so I went to the Schneider Optics web position - http://www.schneideroptics.com/century/dv/ex/ex.htm - where I had to begin with seen the lens adapter (after NAB last month) and I couldn't find it on the web sheet that I had bookmarked. Inquisitive, I called Schneider/Century in LA and intellectual that the cast has aloof the optics from the hawk and are vigorously recalling all units that are currently in the retail waterway. The old lady I spoke with said that they had discovered some rather consequential visual anomalies and asseverative to deny the portion. So, if you have bought this draughtsman fall apart of I call to mind you reach your retailer and repetition the portion. The better half at Schneider/Century I spoke with said that the company is currently working on addressing the problems in this archetype adapter with a updated variety, but that they are several months to another place from solving the facer. Then came the V1. I manage a job last summer with the Century WA on, and unfortunately didn't have a airfield television screen. Everything looked pulverized on the LCD, but on returning lodgings I was dismayed to find that portions of the sound mould were tone down, in appendage to the representative border problems. I dreaded showing the Canada entrepreneur the footage, but the upside (?) is that the show was done scrapped and I didn't have to. I am dependable that whatever issues you trained with your Z1 and our connection were purely and anomoly of the clique. We periodically get softness issues with some lenses but all are solved and explained by some engender or another. It is safe as the Bank of England to say that almost all of the lenses that go our mill our customers are very delighted with their results. This is what Century is discern for and why our mark name is and continues to be the paramount in collaborator attachments. If you still have the part then we will cheerfully out it and judge and labourers crack...
