Not bad, you get what you pay for.A easily understood, solid bracket for a very low price. Was very difficult getting my flash in and out of the hot shoe the first couple of times, and I was jittery I might break it if I forced it too much. Luckily that didn't happen, and now it fits in tight but okay. Period consuming to change from vertical to horizontal orientation but, again, it's very inexpensive. If you don't want to pay more than $12 for a grade, this might work for you. Just beware of the sticky hot shoe.

Discard Or Defective
Out of the box...on the top shoe, two of the three shoe mounting screws/threads are stripped allowing the exterior mic to float/bounce around which, to my surprise, ruined a nice video due to the bouncing noise heard throughout the video. On a tripod not telling, this sound is non-existant. Carrying the camcorder while recording is where the problem lies. To me the $12.00 procurement price is not worth the hassle to return it (the original box/package was tossed out, thinking "what could be naughty with this". Just a heads up for for future buyers
Stinks for Sony Handycams.
I bought this level so I could attach an off camera mike. The cold shoe is placed so you have to use it left handed. This creates a problem if you insufficiency to operate with the viewing screen in the open position. No can do. If you want to put it on the right side, the cold shoe is rearwards which make the mike placement looking towards the rear. If you don't mind viewing throught the eyepiece, then it's ok.
Amicable for the price, but it smells.
This mount has multiple ways to mount an visible flash/video light and an extra mic. My only complaint would be that the rubber handle smells like rubber. After using it, your hands odour like that too. But, for $10 I guess you get what you pay for.
