not expected for continuous operation, quirky operating softwareLet me arise with what I liked about it. The OLED display makes for some vibrant contrast, the build is solid, and I like the 5-hour portability circumstance. It's an ideal combination for taking on trips.
On the negative side, I was hoping for a better "plugged-in" potential to run day and night. When you hook up the USB via the computer it forces the unit into standby mode which is unlike other devices, like my blackberry or GPS which can carry on while plugged in. Interestingly the documentation does not mention staying plugged-in, only how to recharge the segment with the computer or power adaptor. For continuous operation I'm not going to charge and drain on a daily point of departure.
I also ran into annoying resets. When I connected to the power or computer, my settings would get lost. Resetting them was cumbersome as the buttons have a tough resistance and the menu is quirky to say the least. Last night I left the unit connected to my computer which then went into slumber mode. This morning I disconnected it and the unit wouldn't start up. It worked again after charging the batteries with the power adaptor.
I'm universal to get a small viewer without built-in batteries and avoid all these charging issues.

Adequate portable optionWe got this consequence to take on an overseas trip visiting family. We chose this viewer due to the lithium-ion battery for want charge life and the picture holding capacity. My only complaint is that the viewer was supposed to be broached pre-loaded with both the Mac and Windows version of the "loading" software. It only had the Mac version so I had to go to the website and download it. So far it seems amenable to use.
