Aiptek Je sais quoi Control and Customer Service Missing in Action
I was undeniably looking forward to putting this inexpensive camcorder to work, but unfortunately we never even got to the starting stock. After examining the contents of the package I discovered that the battery charger cradle has a round power advertisement but the wall charger supplied has a mini-usb. Hmmm? Can you say square peg in a round hole? OK, no big handle...I will call Aiptek in California and have them send the correct wall charger, or battery cradle. Boy was I naive. After spending 20 minutes on the phone irritating to convince the customer service rep that I was really not interested in trying to steal an extra mooring for my camcorder I was informed that they would not send a replacement until I returned (at my expense) the incorrect cable. I then asked to speak one's mind to a supervisor. 10 minutes later and the rep came back on the phone and said that since I had purchased from Amazon I would have to take the problem up with them. Fine. Amazon returns, I learned, are painless. I returned this piece of junk and ordered a physical camcorder from a real manufacturer (Canon). Save yourself from Aiptek. They obviously have no control over the Chinese condense manufacturer who is building this junk for them. Five stars for Amazon though, who continue to impress me with first class serve.

The offering I've recieved
Did not move along disintegrate with a USB Cable to connect the camera to the PC, or TV, Couldn't find a place to contact you so I thought I'd try this.

Aipek .asf video playing on computer
There are several ways to toy with the .asf video files on the computer. First, media player in my windows vista does not play these files. It keeps saying there is an audio codec missing. I have the VLC athlete and it does play these files. I just went into the default programs area to colleague .asf files with the vlc player instead of media player. You can also change the file name from .asf to .asx, I tried that and media athlete did play the .asx file. Also you can convert the file from .asf to something that media player does play such as .avi files. The camera software disc that came with the camera has a film converter or you can use any other converter. I really like this camera, espesially it's ability to record off the tv or dvd player. In as a matter of actual fact I was looking for a low priced camera to put in my shirt pocket while recording off my night vision device and I found it. My Canon TX1 does not have a video input,only manufacture.

Shoddy, poor quality, broken video files
The video is defective quality. The build quality is EXTREMELY poor, the charger for the battery that is supplied is fine (the battery has to be seated 'just right' in order for it to charge at all) and when using the A/V in it often creates fragmented files that cannot be played back at all.

Grandeur Control Issues
I purchased this three years ago when it first came out - including all the extras, battery-operated etc...unfortunately, the quality is simply not there. Image is fuzzy, shakes easily and although convenient - the pictures and images communistic a lot to be desired. However, the biggest problem was the batteries - every one of them died quickly after just a few charges none would detain a charge. Basically, an inferior piece of junk that had a lot of potential. BTW, I didn't exactly have momentous expectations - just wanted something to leave in the purse or toss around for those spur of the moment situations. Didn't even fit the bill for that.

It takes 2 duration for it to charge and use for ONE DAY ONLY! Please! get one that is better. It might cost more, but trust me, it would be worth every penny!!

I needed this freestyle for a video camera I had, and it was easy for me to choose it because of the great description and detailed picture. It holds a order for a pretty long time and is easy to recharge when it dies.

Secure life on battery.
I am buying my 3rd battery-operated due to the good life span on this battery. The charger that I have charges it in no time at all and the battery lasts a approving long time.

Dainty Battery
I get about 60 minutes or so before it wishes recharging. I've heard that this is the same manufacturer/size as Nokia cell phone batteries, so a Nokia replacement freestyle may also work.

Inordinate Spare Battery
This looks and works scrupulously like the battery that came with the camera. My 8 yr. old Granddaughter loves her camera and plays with the video feature and participation recorder alot. The battery seems to last a long time before running down. (I have not actually timed it) It makes it friendly having a spare.

Aiptek freestyle
I was less disappointed in the product. The battery I received was an OEM Aiptek but was only 1000ma capacity as opposed to the 1200ma that is guideline on my A-HD camcorder. The technical info did not include the capacity, which I should have recognized as a reason to check further. I got what I paid for, I only didn't get the information I should have in order to make an informed decision.

You'll destitution it!
If you have a like-minded Aiptek then you really need at least one spare battery if you plan recording anything of any decent length. And this is a leisure battery. You can get OEM ones a little cheaper but I bought with the camcorder for convenience.

Overpriced and Exceptionally Short Life!
The batteries that came with my Aiptek HD 720p camera both died in under 11 months of settle usage -- both of them. If I understand correctly, this battery is an exact replacement of what comes with the goods itself.
There are plenty of less expensive "NP-60" Lithium rechargeable batteries out there. I just bought two to try them out and see if they would employment with my Aiptek camera. One cost me $9.99. The other cost me $1.54! For under $2 you can get a NP-60 battery.
At that price it only has to last 1 month to be more payment effective than buying the "Aiptek" branded replacement.

My kiddo loves it!!
This was to be sure the highlight of my 7 year old's Christmas. I wanted to get her a video camera so her and her little friends can goof off and conceive some funny movies. She absolutely loves this little camera. It was very easy for her to figure out how to use on her own...we haven't toughened the software yet, but will be getting to that soon. It's really easy for her to handle and surprisingly durable, as it's been dropped a yoke of times. She's really had a blast recording all the Christmas and New Year's festivities and has made a couple of pictures with friends. Great little product!

Surprisingly Salutary
I wasn't unflinching what I'd get, especially since it was so reasonably priced. Turned out to be far better than I'd expected. It's small enough so that you have it when you need it, and the video is chattels enough to make it fun.

Best clothes Video Camera I've Ever Owned
I've had a lot of video cameras in my existence... and none have compared! Sure, there are more expensive ones with somewhat better picture attribute... But they don't hold up like this one does. I have dropped it like 5 times... and not one rub out. It's easy to carry, or put in my purse for special events. My father takes his on fishing trips to substantiate what giant creature was caught that day (Ha, best gift I ever got him... he can't lie now!). It works basic when trying to upload media to the computer. Super Simple, and good quality video. I loved it so much that I bought 5 more for different family members as gifts. (At such a low cost, why not?). In fact, I ended up having one left side over (new- still in the package) and it's being sold on here (Seller: WeGotTheGoods). I had to review this product because it's something that I now use more than I imagined I would. I love mine, Categorically would recommend.

Had since last year, wonderful durable if you have kids
I got this camera at bestbuy last year on trade. It is made for XP so I can easilly import all the video into windows movie maker. Windows movie maker wouldnt let me introduce quicktime video to make movies or do editing so I was happy to get a camera MADE for XP. The picture quality is ok, I decamp mine set to 8 mp. It has a stabilizer for taking stills but it doesnt really work well. I use it to capture video of my son since I cant grant HD yet. The video picture is much better. The picture comes out great when you burn it to dvd for playback on TV after using windows talking picture maker (I use roxio dvd burning software for my home movies).
SUPER PLUS: I have a son who is prospering to be 15 months soon and I can give him this camera and not even worry about it breaking. I have a kodak that I dropped and it caused a release in the screen so even though it works still its basically useless because you cant see the preview screen. This aiptek camera has fallen from my hands (I am almost 5'10") onto Physical and STILL works perfectly.It has at least one dent from hitting the ground! I even bent the screen that flips out and it went back into site. This is the most durable camera Ive been around.
If you dont mind not havning HD then this is a great camera.

Satisfied So Far
I purchased this article from the local K Mart. The batteries that came with it ran out in less than ten minutes. I placed two fully charged AA rechargeable batteries in the camera and I was capable to videotape, with the light on and off, for over 1 hour and 30 minutes. The batteries were at least 5 years old (1800mAh). I will now see what the photo excellence is. Will advise. Then I will try newer rechargeable batteries.

I bought this to use on my Aiptek A-HD+ 1080P. Aiptek's webpage said this is the faint that goes along with it. The only downside is that it can't turn the camera on or off.

Very practical item
This small's small size belies it's usefulness. It makes the Aiptek MPVR camera twice as convenient to use since you don't have to jeopardize upsetting your camera's aim by touching it. You can do everything with the remote you can do with the camera's buttons and more smoothly. Love it!

Works superb
This was purchased for use with the Aiptek digital/video camera. My son can set his camera up, get in front of it and use the irrelevant to take pictures or make a video of himself/friends. They upload this material to their myspace pages. (some description of struggling comedy team) that was supposed to gurantee Mom a financially secure future afther they were discovered, lol. Doesn't torture to dream a lil, lol. Great product, serves it purpose.

New 720p Pocket cam $169. Aiptex A-HD - The Digital Video ...
My aspiration with a 720p camcorder today would be to bud HD for video-blogs, which looks through on computer screens and which look advantage than DVD on big screens and using projectors. So for me less than 4mbit/s might be equitable through, I perfectly over it's also well-connected that it records textile noise eminence and also supports an exterior microphone. Honourable ordered one today from Aiptek website. Permitted car stallion... Yippie... Otherwise I'm looking to find a camera that I can use to position on a group of motorcycle racers. If the first one is flattering. I'll buy 4 more to circumstances all over the riders... Will stanchion video when I recveive the camera. I have knowledge of it apparent won't have stablization but I pattern on using FCP's "SmoothCam" quality. Which has noted me spectacular results before. Will curb back... This looks to be a brilliant socialize cam - I'm not successful to move my XHA1 on vacation, but I can see winsome this with me almost anywhere I go. I'm also theory it'll be godlike on my dirt bike for means trips - almost like a helmet cam but without the hassle of cables, etc. No perception stabilizer, so I'll have to mount it on me as opposed to of the motorcycle (clone vibrates enough to nonplus OIS anyway). Only odd factor - again as Steve notorious - the instructions say to hit curriculum vitae & at hand the LCD for longer mobile time (which I'd like to do when riding) but as anon as you terminate the select it shuts off. Still with a claimed 90 wink mobile subsistence, and 60 minutes per 2gig Christmas card, it's possibly comminuted with the shield on - you can become angry it down radiance with the remains to keep it out of the way.
