Also don't understand all those letters they put on the lenses. They mean different things on conflicting brand lenses.
The Sigma 28-300 I bought last week was an F mount lens. Yes it fit the camera but the camera didn't do homage the lens. Said there was no CPU in the lens.

Q: I want to get a new lens to go along with my Disobey XSi. I have shot with the Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 lens and it works very well. I have never rifleman with the Canon 70-200 f/2.8L lens but have researched it and am in the light of that as my new lens. I would obviously prefer to spend less but my real doubt is if there is a significant or noticeable difference between the two manufactures, or if the $600 extra bonus tag is just for the name.
Also, I know that these lenses aren't beginner lenses like my camera is, but I plot on upgrading to a 50D at some point.
