    Product Details

    • 58mm female threads
    • 2 piece adapter set, bottom section is for wide angle lenses & filters
    • Made of aluminum, unlike Canon's one piece plastic adapter
    • Top piece combined with bottom piece is for telephoto and macro/close up lenses & filters

    Product Description

This metal two ruined lens adapter set with 58mm threads is an alternative to the one piece plastic Canon LA-DC58K with 58mm threads for the G10 and G11

The uncontrollable with Canon's LA-DC58K lens adapter is that its over all length is 51.56mm, which works with Canon's telephoto lens ONLY, it was not expected for used with filters. When the camera's lens is fully zoomed in, it will extend d the lens adapter by approximately 1mm, which is too short and will cause the lens collapse issue when trying to use a filter or a third party telephoto lens, where the camera lens will indeed come in contact with the back of the add-on optics, causing a lens error.

This incorrigible is solved with this third party lens adapter, its overall length is 54.62mm, which is hunger enough to use any 58mm filters or third party lenses without lens crash. When the G10 or G11 is fully zoomed in, this adapter has around 2.5 threads extending pass the camera's lens. With this adapter, you are now gifted to use any third party lenses or filters of your choosing.

When using a wide angle lens or filters while zoomed out, you craving to use the first/bottom section of the lens adapter set. When you need to use telephoto, macro/close off up or filters while zoomed in, then you just need to screw on the second segment of the adapter set to extend the length

    Customer Reviews

Does unequivocally what it was made to do.
I skim a number of negative reviews about Canon's lens adapter and how its length is too short as the lens hits it while extending. I presume from a few positives about this one and for the most part they were right on. It's made of steel (feels heavy duty) and comes in 2 pieces, with another smaller reverberate that fits beautifully over my filter. I love it. I'm still wondering why Canon didn't get it right!
    ddoesn't drudgery on the G11
I've had this same with child with any adapters for the G10 and G11.
I wanted to use a polarizing filter. if using the 2 piece adapter it vignettes at 28mm. I tried usinf 1/2 of the adapter and that works for large angle but if you zoom to far the lens hits the filter and the camera shuts down. I also had that problem with adapters like this one conecting a reflecting telescope eyepiec to my telescopes. shut down again/ it needs to be about an 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch longer.

if all you're interested in is WA shots then it's ok.
    faultless build.
    but not reccomended
The Made-to-order Metal Adapter for your G10 or G11
This item quite simply is perfect.

Its a 2 piece metallic adapter that hands down is the best administer for your G10 or G11.

We all know the cheap Canon one is plastic. And the other one available on that other website that everyone talks about is NO BETTER than this one.

A Spartan slide copier that works
First this is a very unaffected slide copier. You will need to do a little setup work to get good results. I bought this to duplicate some old 35mm half frame, 126 and 110 slides. I couldn't get the resolution I wanted out of a speedily bed or hand held slide copier as most are optimized for 35mm slides. Using a Nikon D90 and the 55-200mm kit lens, I got spectacular results. I could zoom goodness in on the half frame or the 110 slide and get a 12 mega pixel image in raw that I could established in post. Some of the slides are 40 years old and the colors are shifting. There where no instructions with the unit, so I had to try a pair of setups to get everything working well. This is not the fastest way to copy slides, but you can get great results. The setup I old to make it reasonably fast and painless is as follows: Put the camera on a tripod and use the remote trigger, aim the camera at a off-white surface at about three feet distance, I used white foam core, aim two daylight corrected fluorescent lamps at the lather core at 45 degree angles to the aim point of the copier, Insert slides in the the Immunology vector emulsion side towards the lens, zoom and focus (I went with manual focus) as needed to draw up the shot, set the camera to F/11 and tripped the remote. I set white balance to 5200k to match the lamps, but coupй would have worked. I had to crop and color correct all of the images, but they looked just as good if not more advisedly in some cases than the originals. Bang for the buck this is not a bad copier, but if you have good quality slides that needfulness no correction, one of the hand held self contained slide copiers might be faster. But if you have to make peace corrections for color shift or odd format sizes, this unit can't be beat. It's also the lazy way to do it, the tripod was set at the end of the dining compartment table and the foam core and lamps where on the table, I did all the copying while sitting down.
    decorous idea - poor execution
If you are not on the brink of to do a lot of 'retrofitting' on this device, don't buy it.

If you coddle it, build a rack to hold it and your camera in place, and do a lot of screwing around, you can get a reasonable result. But without all of that nonsense, you will be sorry you spent the $55 for this unit.

No negative sleeve came with the portion.

The slide carrier was so stiff that even after some careful use of steel wool, it did not perform easily. The model suggests that it operates much like an old magic lantern projector .. pop in a slide, move the porter into position, snap, and remove the previous slide. No such luck - or speed.

As delivered, it is about impossible to get consistent result with regard to registry as the barrel rotates and has a fair amount of disport oneself in it, so you will need to crop and perhaps rotate every image.

Spend a few hours to build a rack/jig/construction for the unit as I did, and you might get better results but it's a lot of grief if you want to digitize a lot of slides.

For about $100 you can get a mud-slide / negative scanner that is slow but will give good results right out of the box.

For $55 you can get a used Carousel projector and use it as a merry source and slide handling system, take out some of the optics, add a piece of ground glass, put your camera lense fitting up to the modified projector and with a remote in each hand, bang through 90 slides in 3 minutes!

    Dirty copier
First, the laser copier came without a slide or negative carrier, and I have to buy one separately. Second, I have not yet figured out a way to prevent Obvious pincushion distortion. I would never buy one of these again.
    HD Pro Glissade Copier
I found the HD Pro Neglect Copier does produce excellent copies. It does require some photographic knowlege as there is no instruction pamphlet packed with the item.
The main thing is to use an aparture of f16 or f22 on the camera in the duplicating process. This gave me the sharpest duplicated form. When my D40x was on AutoFocus, the resulting image was not as good as it could be. Also, when the duplicated image was on the SD card in the D40x, it was tilted, and had the cast of the cardboard frame there also. The usuable slide image was only 50 % of the available image expanse of the SD card. I used Picasa to crop and straighten the duplicated image. (Other programs should vocation just as well.) This gave me my final photographic image. I am very pleased with the resulting mould and recommend the HD Pro Slide Duplicator. I am an amature photographer who has taken mostly 35mm slides/photos since the 1950's, and have done darkroom toil. Rating: Excellent image but really needs an instruction book.

    Beguiling Lens - great concept
The winning lens (both telephoto and wide angle) is a terrific idea, small, easy to use, close at hand. The only down sides are that the lasso, which acts sort of as a safety strap, is not very secure and the lens can question pull away, and 2. The user needs to be careful not to extend the camera's built in telephoto lens so that part of the representation becomes blackened at the corners. But, that's easy to avoid, and these inexpensive devices make a wonderful withal to a small, compact camera.

    Cheap fisheye lenses for Nikon?

Q: I have a Nikon D60 and I was looking for some inexpensive fisheye lenses. I was comparing Opteka's and Bower's fisheye lenses, but I don't know which one to settle upon. So please help me choose which one is better and I am open to other fisheye kind suggestions as well. Thank you.

A: They are absolutely just add-on fisheye adapters. You will need one that will screw on to your 18-55 mm lens (52 mm leach thread)

The least expensive fisheye lens you can buy for the Nikon D60 is the Tokina 10-17 mm fisheye zoom, but it is NOT inexpensive. I prefer the Nikon 10.5 mm fisheye .. it was quality waiting until I could add it to my system budget for the year.
