Mannerly enough product
Thoughtful enough ... but I didn't find it very useful as the corners of the photos get chopped off at wide-angles, and I'm not a whopping fan of the fish-eye look. I bought it for underwater photography but didn't end up using it much. Does the job though.

Rapture it
I wanted a broad angle lens to add to my "creative" arsenal and get me to see things differently...this lens was so inexpensive compared to devoted fisheye lenses...and I have just made some test shots with this lens and all I can say is that I am going to have a lot of fun with it. And so far as just the "macro" part does... I definitely can't believe how close you can get to an object...very cool.

For the charge, a fun and useful lens
I use this lens on the end of gauge zoom and wide-angle lenses on my Rebel XSi and AE-1 (it came with 58mm and 55mm adapter rings), and for its rate I don't see how it can be beat. With a Super Wide you know you're going to get barrel distortion, so I like to put it at its widest and get actual close to a subject, even focusing on things just an inch or two from the lens.
One thing of note is that is doesn't go well stacked on a telephoto lens, but that's not unexpected all things the contrasting purposes of each. I'm not taking a star off a product because it doesn't do what it's not designed to do.
There are a lot of creative things you can do with this lens, and for such a petty price compared to high-end fish-eye lenses, I'm definitely glad to have it in my bag.

More safely a improved then I expected!
I needed a bag for my new dSLR camera & I was interested in a tripod as well. I figured for the value I couldn't go wrong & even if it wasn't that great it would tide me over for now. I ordered it and when I received it I was pleasantly surprised. The back deck package is a little smaller then a regular size school back pack. It holds my camera & accessories superbly & I am even able to put my note book and school book (taking photography class). Its gigantic for trips too. I pack up my shooting gear and put my wallet in there and I have everything I need. The cleaning kit is basic but gentlemanly to have and also fits in the back pack. The pictures I was show the tripod fitting in a little side compartment. I haven't tried that yet. The tripod was indeed a lot bigger then I expected. Its not the fanciest tripod ever, but it holds my Canon Rebel perfectly and so far its working out glaring. I'm very impressed with all of it. I would highly recommend getting it if you are interested in a good size camera case & tripod and aren't looking to throw away a fortune.

Flattering product !!!
I had very adroit results with this product, the lens cap isn't unusefull, but in the future can be.
The case is too hard to close and can ruin the lens inside surface...

Buy a 2x teleconverter or proportions rings instead.
Don't be at if you want good macro close up shots.
This kind of product does what it says but at the get of DOF, color clarity and over all lighting.
If you use all three rings combined you get a very misty and ghost like idea. The edges of which look like the effect you see on old camera black and white shots, where the outside edges of the rapidly fade into white.
DOF? almost null. This is expected on Macro shots, but not as accentuated as what you get with these close up filters.

Nice product
the offering gives what it promises... only problem i found is that u have to get extra close to the subject to take the picture.. so this would be iffy for insects and live close-ups.. but for plant and coins it is fine. its hard to take pics when there is not enough scold as there will be a cast shadow most of the time from the size of the lens so you have to find the perfect angle to shoot at.

very over-nice optical close-up set
I've been using these diopters to take cramped up photos, and I've used them atop a 10x macro lens for very close details. There seems to be no distortion, and the photos and teeming with detail, though you may want to consider using a tri-pod when you can. Nice set, though the deal I had was without the lens cap, and so, I can't comment on that.

Product Details
- Made of aluminum, unlike Canon's one piece plastic adapter
- Top piece combined with bottom piece is for telephoto and macro/close up lenses & filters
- Unlike Canon's adapter, this is just long enough to avoid lens crash issue when using third party lenses or filters
- 2 piece adapter set, bottom section is for wide angle lenses & filters

Product Description
This metal two production lens adapter set with 58mm threads is an alternative to the one piece plastic Canon LA-DC58K with 58mm threads for the G10 and G11
The unruly with Canon's LA-DC58K lens adapter is that its over all length is 51.56mm, which works with Canon's telephoto lens ONLY, it was not intended for used with filters. When the camera's lens is fully zoomed in, it will extend dated the lens adapter by approximately 1mm, which is too short and will cause the lens bang issue when trying to use a filter or a third party telephoto lens, where the camera lens will as a matter of fact come in contact with the back of the add-on optics, causing a lens error.
This unmanageable is solved with this third party lens adapter, its overall length is 54.62mm, which is hanker enough to use any 58mm filters or third party lenses without lens crash. When the G10 or G11 is fully zoomed in, this adapter has around 2.5 threads extending pass the camera's lens. With this adapter, you are now capable to use any third party lenses or filters of your choosing.
When using a wide angle lens or filters while zoomed out, you wish for to use the first/bottom section of the lens adapter set. When you need to use telephoto, macro/make up or filters while zoomed in, then you just need to screw on the second part of the adapter set to extend the length
Customer Reviews
Does scrupulously what it was made to do.
I scan a number of negative reviews about Canon's lens adapter and how its length is too short as the lens hits it while extending. I study a few positives about this one and for the most part they were right on. It's made of steel (feels heavy duty) and comes in 2 pieces, with another smaller knell that fits beautifully over my filter. I love it. I'm still wondering why Canon didn't get it right!

ddoesn't drudgery on the G11
I've had this same in a predicament with any adapters for the G10 and G11.
I wanted to use a polarizing filter. if using the 2 piece adapter it vignettes at 28mm. I tried usinf 1/2 of the adapter and that works for deviating angle but if you zoom to far the lens hits the filter and the camera shuts down. I also had that problem with adapters like this one conecting a telescope eyepiec to my telescopes. shut out down again/ it needs to be about an 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch longer.
if all you're interested in is WA shots then it's ok.
nice build.
but not reccomended

The Ideal Metal Adapter for your G10 or G11
This item quite simply is perfect.
Its a 2 piece metallic adapter that hands down is the best apportion for your G10 or G11.
We all know the cheap Canon one is plastic. And the other one available on that other website that everyone talks about is NO BETTER than this one.

Cheap fisheye lenses for Nikon?
Q: I have a Nikon D60 and I was looking for some inexpensive fisheye lenses. I was comparing Opteka's and Bower's fisheye lenses, but I don't know which one to settle upon. So please help me choose which one is better and I am open to other fisheye kind suggestions as well. Thank you.

Opteka

A: They are absolutely just add-on fisheye adapters. You will need one that will screw on to your 18-55 mm lens (52 mm leach thread)
The least expensive fisheye lens you can buy for the Nikon D60 is the Tokina 10-17 mm fisheye zoom, but it is NOT inexpensive. I prefer the Nikon 10.5 mm fisheye .. it was quality waiting until I could add it to my system budget for the year.
