Works filamentous.. but needs to be held at correct angle.Importance of the product is good and the video is decent but the sound is poor, however compared to other spy camera's this is gamester, but the problem is it needs to be held at a correct angle. You think, you are recording a particular subject or a person but the actual video is something adjacent to it.
You will feel frustrated to see the video that whatever you wanted to information is not there at all.
So its up to you to decide. Hope this helps.
Barely acceptable Recorder
Purchased this a few time ago. Have used it 4 times with ok results. Audio is not very good. Sounds like an old time cinema projector in the background sound. Video was ok. One huge hint: download video to your computer before infuriating to play. If you play off the recorder the video is terrible. Once I downloaded it to my laptops and played the downloaded files the video played much beat. I played this on two different machines. A laptop running XP and a Laptop running Win 7. Both machines picked it up as a seperate private road with no problem and both played well. I watched it on both machines using RealPlayer and Windows Media instrumentalist and had no problems. I think the price is a little high as I have purchased other little spycams (much smaller too) online for $35 and tolerably much got the same results. Hopefully I won't have problems with durability with this unit.
Fraudulent Advertizing, for a Bogus Product...
Not only was this result originally deceptively depicted as a Pen camera -- unlike the REAL pen-cameras on other sites -- but this steal item also failed to work in a few days! Real headache trying to be reasonable with assemblage. Only with legal threats did company take back item -- minus postage, and acknowledgement of artifact or service deficits.
This is not a pen
I was looking for a sincere spy pen - something I can write with that looks like a real pen. If you want to fool people into thinking that's a actual pen in your pocket, this is not your product. The company charges a 30% "restocking fee" to return their product. Also, the callers does not post the instruction manual online, so if you lose it, you're on your own. The controls are a little clutzy, but the video blue blood is very good.

I purchased a Purloin DVR Pro II from Ultimate Gadgets through Amazon and didn't know what to expect. After making a few probe videos, my computer wouldn't recognize the USB device when I inserted it. I contacted Ultimate Gadgets customer support few. The guy that answered was very knowledgeable and eager to help. He said he would rush me a replacement device and he did. This one works immaculately and I tested it under several different conditions. I love this thing! I mostly use the 640x480 mode and I find the audio rank way better than I expected.
Though the product impressed me very much, the Amazon-like customer service sealed the contract for me. I'm ordering another one as a gift for my brother. This time I'm not going to worry.
