Digital Concepts TR-60N Tripod - get something else!
I'm strictly am tiro and don't need/want an expensive tripod (yet). But, I DO want one that works decently!
Since my camera is a Digital Concepts, I stuck with their marque to avoid the chance of incompatibility. The tripod shipped and arrived promptly, and I thought I'd like it, UNTIL...
* the reduce section of one leg wouldn't extend - at all.
* the plastic hand crank on the head was loose and slight, and felt like it would break any second.
* the plastic head was so tight and "sticky" that it wouldn't accommodate oneself to without really torquing it, and then you got HUGE movement that took your focus completely off track.
* I contacted Willoughby's intending to absolutely request a replacement, but their so-called Customer Service Rep was so haughty and condescending that I decided to take my task elsewhere. When you ship out an obviously defective product, the least you can do is be apologetic to the customer you've inconvenienced.
So I shipped it back for a refund, and am now shopping for a distinctive brand, from a different supplier.
Save your money - it's a pretty sorry piece of materiel when an ignorant newbie rejects it!

Worthy Product for the money
This tripod is an not counting value for the money. It is easy to setup, easy to carry and easy to store. We bought it for a Snap camera and even just using halfway up and sitting it on my lap at an event, it significantly improved my power to control the camera, pan and focus. It doesn't feel flimsy, but it wouldn't hold up to a pro outline.
I only need a tripod once or twice a month, so it should hold up just fine for that. The level is considerate and the adjustments are relatively easy.
Bottom line: it's a very good entry-level Tripod for a insouciant user. It's very lightweight, easy to carry and has a lot of features for not too much money. I'd buy it again and recommend it to friends.

not a complimentary choice....even for the price
I bought this about two years ago and it was a gifted deal...or so I thought. I used it with a Canon XSi. It is very light (flimsy) but has great features for a trashy tripod. The main problem is that the metal screws on the adjustment pegs tear this trend to peices. If you slightly turn one too far it will split the plastic in half. Mine actually cracked (the first experience)sometime during a move and setting it up. The next one I was responsible for. Just very cheaply made and thats what I expected for the money. If you can afford it travelling b stairway up to something that will last. Hope this helps!

Not what we hoped for
I had my reservations about this upshot since it got mixed reviews, but since I have had good luck with Crayola standing behind their products, I decided to procurement it through Amazon. I bought this for my son's birthday in January, and when he opened it, we found that the sound did not work. Called the 800# waiting, which is not Crayola and they said they would send another camera out within 6 weeks! It finally came after about that long, and that one did not have fathom either!! I was furious to wait so long, and still get another lemon. I called again and given the same story. We are still waiting for the 3rd camera. Meanwhile, they told us to keep the other 2 on the fritz ones. The video portion works, and the sound does play back when you download to a computer, but not when you playback on the camera - which is what a kid loves to do - simulate it back after they've made a video. If this one doesn't work, I am done, and will demand my $ back. Now 2 months after his birthday, my son still does not have a working camera. Very Unsatisfying. Next time I would spend more for a better product.

LCD malfunction
This seemed like a heinous idea. The screen started going gray on day 2, but would come on again when shut off and restarted. By day 5 the LCD didn't toil at all. Customer service at the manufacturer (which is not crayola) was slow to deliver the address to send it back since the pinchbeck packaging didn't survive opening.

Fasten to crayons!
We purchased this camera for our 9 year old son for Christmas because he had wanted a exquisite video camera for an upcoming vacation. After reading the reviews we thought it would be worth the coins. Boy were we WRONG! It barely stays on, it was constantly turning off on him. The picture was small and very blurry, you could only just make out what it was. You also could not see unless the light was very bright, so basically it only was outside that you could make anything out. You had to buy memory cards for longer than 10 seconds of ever. This is not what he or I expected after spending that amount of money. We were very disappointed. Then when we contacted Crayola they told us there was nothing they could do and we couldn't have our notes back because it wasn't broke.
Crayola stick to crayons!

Loved it...for a few moments!
My authentic review: My 7-yr old daughter got this for Christmas. I was leary at what the quality would be, as I couldn't find any reviews before Christmas. I have to say that I'm very impressed with this thing! My daughter loves it! It's easy for her to use. The software was very simple to load & learn on the computer. She's had a blast uploading her pictures & photos & editing them with the program. I was also worried that the batteries wouldn't last long, but they've been fine. The give one the impression isn't fantastic (picks up her voice when she's filming, but hard to hear anyone else), but she doesn't mind! So, complete I'm very happy with this product. I sure would've loved to have something like this when I was a kid! Who would've ever thought...?
My updated review (11/18/09): This didn't last crave at all. It stopped working pretty quickly (screen wouldn't work). I have condign contacted the company to see about getting it replaced within the warranty. So, the price was great when it worked, but now, if it's not replaced, it was a lot of wealthy for nothing!

the crayola camcorder
This was in all likelihood the best present my son got. He has carried it around for days. The video quality is suprisingly good for the evaluate of this camcorder. I have yet to check out the software, but the videos have no problems uploading to my computer. We have posted all videos to www.youtube.com. Search for jpragusa, and those are all videos entranced on this camera. I would reccomend getting an sd card with this as well. we got a 4gb and have not run into any storage problems.

Peculiar price and great picture quality for 15 bucks
After viewing the Flip one's lid MinoHD mod on youtube, I went to amazon to get me a adapter ring and a 37mm wide angle lens. After some searching I came across Digital Concepts kit that comes with two lenses (wide-ranging angle and Telephoto), 4 different size adapter rings, plus two continue sacks for your lenses. The cherry on top is that the wide angle lens is very crisp and every low (almost nothing) distortion on the edges of scene finder. The best 15 bucks I spent in a very long time...

pleased as Punch beyond expectations
i got this for 15$ and im in the final analysis glad that i did.
the fisheye is really wide,
the telephoto is an extra 3 or 4 optical zoom.
it came with 30-37,30.5-37,43-37mm adapter rings.
i have a canon fs100 so i had to affix on the 43-37mm adapter ring but it was well worth it. i like the fisheye more than the telephoto but they're both great lenses.

Tried it returned it won't buy anything else from Digital Concepts
The outer part of the cloak is all lens. Huge amount of vignetting unless the camera is zoomed in which defeats the purpose of a to the utmost angle adapter.
The treads on the 30.5 adapter do not work on either my camera or my UV filter I could use the 30mm bu tit is not immediately. So back to the store with this cheap lens.

Not advantageous with current model Panasonic camcorders
Engrossed by the low price ($20) I bought this set mainly for the wide angle converter. Unfortunately, it provides no aid with my recently purchased Panasonic VDR-D210 camcorder.
The wide-angle converter itself intrudes into the sketch beginning in the corners when the camcorder is set at the widest setting. By the time I get rid of the darkened corners, I have zoomed in to 2x which leaves me back where I started.
With a 32x zoom, the 2x tele converter is not unusually necessary but does it help? I found that the sharpness is degraded to the point that the camcorder occasionally has in a delicate condition focusing. I tried both automatic and manual focus in one test of zooming in on fine phrasing. The loss of clarity made fine print hard to read. It was more readable without the tele-converter and using the digital zoom as contrasted with to get to the same 64x zoom level.
Maybe these would provide $20 of value with some other camcorder but I wish I hadn't forth the money. I don't know what price point below $200 would give satisfactory results. I would want to try anything else before I finished any more money on this type of product.

It's 3 protectors, not 12! DO NOT BUY!
It lists as a 12 haversack, but it's actually only 3. It has instructions for making "up to" 12, if each of the ones you need to make is only about an inch full. It's a misleading listing.

They Do What They're Intended to: Protect the Screen
These absolve adhesives are pretty good for what they were built to do. If they're on, the screens on iPods, cameras and phones will not get scratched.
They are thick and absolve and last a fairly long time (approx, 2 months). Fairly low interference with graphics. I have fair-minded bought it again.

Offal
I carried a D40 all over the world for eight months and 6000 exposures without so much as a injury on the LCD. Then I stupidly shoved the camera into a laptop bag that also had my car keys in it. Result: a nasty gouge in the interview. Shortly afterward my flash quit working and I sent the camera to Nikon under pledge; they replaced the LCD cover at no charge (yea Nikon!).
So...I thought I'd try a stick-on screen protector to convoy against my next stupid move. Bad idea!
These flimsy pieces of tape totally destroy the image distinction of a good LCD; every shot looks like it was taken at IS0 3,000,000. Doesn't matter how purposefully you apply, your screen will look terrible. What's the point of protecting a nice screen if the "charge" makes it into an awful screen?
Pass. Bad product. I may try a real glass protector like the Giottos Aegis...or perchance I'll just go back to exercising reasonable caution.

Favourable little camera, but...
My parents bought this camera for my six-year old niece, who is autistic and loves to take pictures and videos of herself playing (or have a one's nearest member do it) and watch them on the computer. This digital camera is ruggedly built and is ideal for little ones as it can be dropped many times and will still purpose. There is an attached wrist strap to minimize the likelihood of such accidents. There is a fold-out view sift that shows exactly what is being filmed which is great for kids or anyone else who hates to use the traditional monocular room. I would definitely buy rechargeable batteries simply because it will be cheaper in the long run (get a battery charger, if you don't have one). The cross for the batteries is attached using screws, so it stays on during any unforeseen drop.
Alas, there is one big disparager. The camera has a slot that accommodates one SD card. This is a great feature as it expands greatly the amount of films that can be recorded and stored on the camera. The mess is that this slot is on the bottom of the camera and the cards can and do readily slip out and get lost. I am ordering the second SD plan since this camera was purchased two weeks ago. To me, this seems to be an odd engineering/structural flaw. They design a digital camcorder for kids that can gladly handle the abuse children can dish out on something like this, yet they provide a memory card pigeon-hole that is in the most vulnerable place imaginable. Considering the price and the structrual integrity of the camera this seems to be a uncultivated oversight.
My advice is to buy it for that young photographer/cinematographer in your life, but if you get an SD card for it, put some duct cassette or other adhesive over the card slot and spare yourself the grief of looking for a lost SD card and/or the expense of buying new ones.
