Terrific for my 7 year old.
Bought this for my 7 year old. She loves it. It is foolproof to use and very portable. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is because the picture is very grainy but works good as a child's first camera. Also the built in retention doesn't last long though you can pick up a SD memory card fairly cheap these days which is what we ended up doing. Films and takes pictures.

True for Ages 6 and up
I have 5 offspring and have been using Disney electronics from Digital Blue and have been quite impressed. We have digital cameras, mix maxes and 3 of these video cameras. For the to be honest price it can't be beat. It is a fun thing to use when you have young girls who would otherwise be begging to use your expensive video camera. This is a wonderful alternative.

Disney Flix Video Camera
My worry received these as Christmas gifts and really like them. I thought that they would be of better quality commensurate with the assess. Also, it uses up batteries fairly quickly.

Shocking and Fun for Kids
This makes an provocative gift and my kids love it! They can make their own music videos and get creative. The face course is interchangeable too so it can be High School Musical one day or Hannah Montana the next. Very cute.

Fun Digital Camera for Kids!
We gave this digital camera to our daughter for her birthday and she loves to come to terms her own movie and add clips from the HighSchool Musical movie. (Please realize when you buy this that is not a fancy adult video camera.) My daughter loves it and it's nonpareil for her. She and her friends have lots of fun with it and it has cables to hook it up to the TV so she can show us her movies. She's learned how to connect the camera to the computer and use the video software.
Pros: It fosters freshness and teaches your child how to use a video camera and use video software. You get a lot for the price: the cables, the camera, the tripod, the realistic inserts and the software.
Cons: The tripod is a little small. And I would recommend buying an SD remembrance card so they can have more storage on the camera.
I give it 5 stars because I think it fosters creativity and it's not expensive to buy.

Certainly the BEST gift for a 6 year old!
I lucked out and found this camera on Woot one day, got the trend for $18 plus s/h paid UNDER $23! I read and watched a few reviews, figured it was merit it, but NEVER expected it to be as great as it is! I'd pay $30 for this camera if I had to.
My daughter got this from Santa and never put it down. After her uncles showed her how to become the little dial to adjust between taking still shots, video, or looking over what you've saved/how to cross out....it became the number 1 toy! It takes 2 simple AA batteries and once the kid learns how to delete things to "reuse" the intermission on the camera memory, it will last for hours of fun. She goes around taking pix of her little stuffed animals, her cat, the imagine on the wall, now she likes to video us sitting around, or even what cartoon she's watching on TV. I let her take it to the park, and since she travels a LOT she now takes it in the car and video tapes things on the side of the road. It's VERY easy to use, small and perfect for their little hands, you can download the pictures/videos to your computer to conserve or make into the little movies (the software comes with it) and she enjoys switching out the faceplates from Hanna to HSM or Pirates every so often. Of ambit it doesn't have the best zoom feature, great for within 20-40 feet I suppose. You won't take it to your kids stall for time for video unless you are lucky enough to sit very close to the stage, but it takes great shots and is fun to use.
I nothing but broke down and bought her a 2GB SD card for extra storage so she doesn't have to delete a couple of her fondness videos she's recorded. I'd suggest splurging on the extra $12 for the SD card, it's a LOT more room and will absolutely keep your little "director" happy for endless hours.
I have never been so impressed with the price and ease, and features of a knack and have never seen my daughter get so excited and use something so endlessly, and this is a kid that's pretty easy to shop for but has almost everything.
Any kid will love to engage with this....and most adults will use it too!

Never acquainted with..too complicated
Not a techy...know directions and it is still on the shelf..looked like it would take up a lot of space on my laptop to use..waste of my money..get what you pay for.....

benevolent for a 8 year old
I got this for my 8 year old son and he is enjoying delightful pictures and making little movies. I wanted something for him to use without paying alot. I think this camcorder is credible for him to practice with. I have not hooked the camcorder up with the computer for him to see his recording yet so I hope everything looks okay when we do. But he is having so much fun now with it. The one aspect I don't like is the camcorder does not fit well with the tripod.

Countless for kids!
I bought the Disney Flix camera for my 3 year old son (since he is always using my digital camera!) I wanted one more his bulk - and it is! The camera is about the size of the palm on my hand and fits perfectly in his! I was also concerned that if I bought one of those other kids "puzzling" cameras that he wouldn't like it b/c it didn't look like mine. He has dropped it several times already. Sometimes the freestyle cover comes loose, but we just put it back on tight and he is good to go. He absolutely loves this camera! He walks around enchanting pictures and video of everything!
We put a 2 MB sd card in the camera so that he can take pics all day long without running out of space. It runs on AA batteries and a week later we still safe haven't had to change them, so I am pleased with that as well.
The only complaints I have is that it makes the shutter sound and then actually takes the pictures, so you get a lot of operating pictures with a kid (not a big deal to me since I pretty much delete them all anyway) an older kid could probably acknowledge this and adjust thier skills.

Exceptionally fun for kids, but POOR quality
This kids camcorder has been one of the most suitable Christmas presents we've ever purchased for our daughter -- with the exception that after around 4 months it stopped working all together. Digital Downhearted quickly responded to our problem, and replaced the camera.
After another year of use, the camera doesn't trade at all if a memory card is installed. The on-camera memory is so small; you need the memory be forthright to get any real use out of the camera. Digital Blue's response now:
Unfortunately our limited warranty system is only for one year from the date of purchase. We also do not have a repair facility for our products.
No replacement (understandable), but can't fix it? Purchaser beware!

Pirates of the "Scaribean" camera
Gave this camera to my 4 yo grandson for christmas and he loves it! Enjoys putting symbols in the pictures he is in. unsure of battery life but have heard no complaints to this date. Actually bought same camera in Tinkerbell for my 5 yo granddaughter and she has a capsule with hers also. Would recommend this product.

Ok camera for 6 year, could be preferably.
I bought this camera for Christmas for my 6 year old immediately instead of the fisher price kids digital camera. I thought being a 3mp it would produce sport quality than the fisher price. I was mistaken. Even after transferring the images to my computer they are fuzzy, poor supremacy, and the lighting absolutely sucks. When the flash is on it washes everything out, when its off you can't see the subject at all if the picture is taken lining. We have not been able to try it outdoors yet. My son was able to figure out the features and it is easy for him to use. He enjoys the camera and doesn't seem to have any complaints about it. I should have send forth a little extra money and gotten him a cheap namebrand camera made for adults. I would not recommend this camera for other children if you are looking for printable pictures.

Mammoth disappointment
As if you be in want of yet another poor review to tell you to save your money and NOT buy this camera. I found myself wishing I could give this camera 0 stars! The counterpart quality on the LCD is so poor - you cannot even tell what the photo was supposed to be of! Once downloaded, the pictures are grainy - as expected due to the low verdict. If you do not hold the camera perfectly still, the image is blurred beyond recognition. And let's face it - what 6 (or 7 or 8 or . . . ) can put behind bars perfectly still for any amount of time? Do not buy this camera. It will frustrated you as well as your young, budding photographer!

The 3.0 Pixel Camera with Flickering
I almost didn't buy this camera because of all the neutralizing reviews posted, UNTIL it became obvious that they weren't talking about this model. Amazon do something about this!!!
The camera works precise and provides adequate pictures. The flash indoors is a bit "hot" but most of the time my 5 year old will be takeing pictures skin. The picture quality is adequate as well. It is easy for my daughter to use and doesn't have any games to distract her and run down the battries like other "kids" cameras.
Things I would vacillate turn into: I would add a distinct "click" to let her know that it is OK to take the camera down from her eye (she wants to look at the picture as soon as she has pushed the handle). I would also ad a rechargeable battery that can be charged on the sync cable.
I can't complain too much about the shortcomings of the camera as it was under $30. I finished $25 for a Polaroid camera that looked like a game controller and took .3 megapixel (640x480) pictures. This is a literal 3.0 megapixel camera AND you can add an SD card if your kid really takes a lot of photos.
This review is for the Disney Pix MAX 3.0 Megapixel camera. Look out that there are Pix and Pix mini that are probably receiving the poorer reviews.

put together of junk
My 10 year old son got this camera for his b-day. He took tons of pictures while out of borough, and once home we tried to load them on my computer. The software would not recognize that the camera was plugged in and after searching the internet I irrevocably had to uninstall and download from the digital blue website. Once we saw the pictures we were so disapointed, all of the outdoor photos (about 90% of the pictures) had an overhelming purple hue to them. The indoor pictures were ok, as yearn as the camera was not too close to the subject (because the flash would white out the subject). Save your medium of exchange, do not buy this camera.

This camera never worked. We took it out of the box, followed the directions and nothing. We've tried and tried to get it to industry, still nothing. Very disappointed pre-teen.

Don't decline your money
At this age, partly the fun of having a camera is instantly looking at the pictures you've taken. It's literally almost impossible to see the fancy on the extremely tiny display screen. The flash is horrible--no picture comes out without lots of faintness that is if they even come out at all. Many are black. Yes it's a cheap camera but no kid could have fun with this at all what so ever. Do not buy it.

Hannah Montana Disney digital camera
I have to come with the other reviewer. This camera is awful! Most images you can't even make out, even in broad daylight. I didn't trust this to be a great camera, but my step daughter uses my Canon sometimes and does a pretty honest job of taking photos, but it didn't matter where these photos were taken ... they were horrible. Don't irritation buying it, we are going to return the one we got her.

Don't eradicate your money
Camera is tasteless. You can't even make out the image when you take a picture. It's not even worth taking the pictures. Was purchased at Toys R Us who won't even give co-op give credence to credit with out a receipt. They don't stand behind their products. Awful camera! Don't buy it.
