Consumer's BEWARE

I ordered this video recorder for my eight year old daughter who has a flare for making gay videos of herself. So, when income tax time came around I knew the perfect gift would be a video camera... I had looked at the Vado (See relation below) because my mom has it and had gotten it from Amazon and it is amazing quality, but it lacked the capability of capturing photos. I looked at the Polaroids and several others and dream that this sounded like a great item at a great price. It was all me or my daughter could talk about for the next few period. I even paid for the one day shipping so she could start sharpening her reporting skills. We were both so thrilled about getting it. Then I opened the containerize and I was immediately disappointed by even the quality of the materials it was made of. I didn't let that first impression affect me. She of course was thrilled. She at once starts shooting a video and is quickly confused by an F that won't go off the screen (wasn't anywhere in the pamphlet they send). I found a recollection card in her older video camera and gave it to her and the F went away. That's how we discovered that 8 seconds of video was all the retention this camera could handle. Then it's time to upload the videos and photos and the software that they provided didn't need to work. I finally uploaded with my own program and the quality of all the pictures were horrible. The camera I had bought her two years ago from the kids branch that was some off brand was better quality video then this. Some of hte files wouldn't upload? It gave me some mistaken message saying that there was something wrong with them that they couldn't be uploaded. When I play any of the videos that actually DO upload, before they even administer playing there is a message that pops up and says that Windows media Player encountered a refractory while playing the video and shuts down. I, of course, never read the fine print and now discover that I will only repay 85% of the money I spent on this. I am extremely disappointed with this product and with Amazon for their policy. I don'jt recognize that I will use Amazon again. I wish that there was a way to attach files so that you could see first hand the quality.

Important product
We ordered this for our 15 year old son. He found it very compliant to use, the pictures and video are very clear and are easy to transfer to his computer. We wish there was a a lighted flash peculiarity but he has used a flashlight and that lightens up night videos a bit. A great product for the money!

Pro's - Works loving terrible in bright sunshine
Con's - Works poorly in house light, Manufacture should design one with a dazzle unit built in.

Cost - Great price but what you gain in savings, you lose in functionality.

Major Camera for the Price
I bought this camera to take with me to concerts and other events with friends and relations. It has since become the main camera I use for oral histories as well. The video quality is good when put against other cameras in the payment range. I'm not afraid of it getting bumped,dropped or spilled on at concerts because the price isn't bad. The pictures move around out quite well, although I generally just use this camera for videos. The videos turn in to good looking DVD's for the enunciated histories I do for my job. The DVD's play well and look good on a TV or computer monitor. Yes, you could get higher quality for money, it's not unequalled, but for the price it's great. The memory it uses is cheap, so you never have to run out. People who complain about the quality: well, I posted a video of a one-shot occurance at the last concert I was at (on youtube), the BAND found it and said that it was the best video of that part of the show. It was clear (even though it was in the obscurity) and the audio was quite clear. [...]

My main complaint is that there is no way to mount it to a tripod, it just doesn't have one. I got around it, however, by making a cradle category thing for it out of a shoe box. It works for the purpose and if it ever starts wearing out I can just make anohter one.

The A-one way to learn about the camera and it's features, is to just play with it. The instruction manual is pointless.

As far as cameras in this consequence range go, this is a really good camera. I like it better than other cameras that cost twice as much with a equivalent design. Those produce the same quality for a much higher price and are simply not worth it.

For anyone who loves to record major life events but not major camcorder prices, I would HIGHLY recommend this camera.

The tuppence price reflects the camera quality
Don't taken in for the inexpensive price. This camera is not even worth a cent. The video quality is poor, and it is far from consumer friendly. Mine ended up in the trash because it was useless for any video whatsoever.

I'm please with my acquisition!
Although this is a uncomfortable and inexspensive video camera/camera it takes great pictures and video's. For the fee it is a great deal, once you figure out how to use its features, instructions didn't describe very well. I purchased a 8GB card to accumulation my video's and photo's on. I have yet to use it long enough to determine how long the battery last, but so far it has exceeded my expectations. Not appropriate in low light area's as it has no light or flash. I would definitely recommend this video camera if you are looking for something that takes clean pictures and video, is very light weight, fits in your pocket, and is inexpensive.

Close camera for the price!!
I bought this camera first because of the price, and 2nd because of what it can do. We have a JVC older example VHS-C camera which is now just too bulky when it comes to traveling. We are getting ready to take a cruise and I thinking this would be perfect for that occasion. I've tested it out briefly and will write another review once I'm back from our trip but based on the first test this camera is great! Too cool! I'm looking forward to perhaps including a video criticism next time. So far so good!!

Paltry, handy, so-so video quality, needs audio button
This camera is slight and the only one like it so it's hard to compare it to anything else. The video quality is just a hair better than that from a room phone camera so you won't be winning any Oscars for cinematography. However, the video picture isn't bad and it's mainly the construct rate that's the problem (some flickering) not the resolution. It would be nice if the camera came with an additional abbreviate or strap-- the clip it comes with is alright for thin materials like a shirt pocket, but not the visor of a car or the handlebar of a dirt bike.

The camera absolutely needs an audio-off button because in many states, audio-recording someone without their sanction is a crime. Video-recording (unless the person has an expectation of privacy or is in a state of undress) is typically rightful without consent. This means that, if you're looking to use this small and concealable camera to record people without their authorization or making a big deal about recording the conversation, you have to announce that you are recording and that draws more attention than if you doubtlessly just used a larger camera.

Marked Product!
Brobdingnagian video quality. I got it on Thursday and placed it on my dash the first few trips out. Then on Sunday, I just made a spry trip out without it....a car wreck occurred right in front of me and damaged my vehicle. I don't leave deeply without it now.

requirements a few changes
Will not account while plugged into power.
Full and freshly charged battery only good for one hour of recording.
If mobile dies in middle of clip, that clip is unplayable. Clips are 30 minutes want.
Has slow rolling shutter. Tilt camera movements create unwatchable footage.
Audio is very unprofessional.
The monetary switch for record/stop makes it difficult to know if camera is recording. The flashing immature light isn't easy to see in bright sunlight from an angle.
No internal clock to properly steady old-fashioned video file headers.

I've been running this on bicycle seat post pointed retrogressive at traffic. AAA batteries, and continuous loop recording would make it better.

So small-scale and easy my 6 year can use it!
This is is superb little camcorder to use to capture those everyday moments! Its so eay my 6 year old can use it ans the memory card makes it steady to save your memories in a snap. Its HD and you can hook it to your tv with the hdmi cable it comes with so far no complaints. The only hindrance is it doesnt have any fancy editing or special effects however, it is great for a basic recording logotype and I would recomend it for anyone who wants to be able to capture precious moments, or make silly videos and upload them to you tube.
