    Aipteck A-HD+ 1080P
When the camera here the battery wouldn't charge and it would not turn on. I purchased a new battery locally as I didn't requisite to mess with returning to Amazon. The new battery worked well. A single email to Aiptek was responded to at the speed of light and they have promished to replace the bad battery. The camera is very light and appears to record good video and the mobile (not the original though) lasts much longer than I expected. The concern is that you must install a codec to get the video to enjoy oneself on Windows. The open source ffdshow worked well for me. However, I use this camera for work and we are not allowed to initiate software on our conputers and thus this is my biggest problem with the camera. A camera that used the standard Windows codecs would have been much more prefered.

This was purchased to for as a video recorder for a special camera. Aiptek is the only small camera of this type that I could find that had the required auxilary input to lash to another camera. The camera does work but if a bad connection occurs due to moving the cord the camera stops recording and goes back to camera vogue. Shutting down and setting up for aux input is requred to start recording again. It would be much better if the camera reasonable keep recording on loss of signal. My second issue was while the camera in normal mode can be set to a add up of different quality settings from low to high settings, while recording from the aux in changing the setting have no effect. Thus I am impotent to set in the lowest resolution to minimize file size which is important for my application. Because of these two issue were my only pretext for purchasing this camera I rated at only 3 stares. I am actually very impressed with the camera as a small camcorder as it is it scold, takes good video, and is easy to use.

I still hope to get this camera to work for my application as I can't find any alternate. It would be perfect if it would record in lower resolution and it used a standard codec. It was still worth taxing as all other manufactures seem to have abondanded the aux in recording market. I believe most camcorder users would be happy with this elementary camera and the price is very good. If anyone knows of a similar camcorder with aux in, please let me know!
    A odd camera!
This is an remarkable camera. I purchased this in December 2008 because of it was, at the time, one of the few "budget" camcorders to offer an HD image.

A yoke of points: I notice that the low-light quality is much better in the 720 mode than the 1080 set-up. The files shot in 720 HD needed to be converted for the Mac in order to edit in Final Cut. As others have respected, there is no built-in image stabilization, so it really helps to mount this camera on a tripod. However, if held with a relentless hand, it still produces a good image.

I highly recommend this product. I was amazed at the blue blood it is capable of, especially in situations with proper lighting.

This is the film I shot with the camera. It gives an reason of what this camera is capable of:

    Aiptek a-hd
I Lover it! I use it in my classroom after a tech inservice in which it was recommended. It is handy and easy to use!
    Skilful for the price
If you're looking for a niggardly video camera to record memories or what have you, look no further. While it's not something you'd use to shoot some ridiculously high-dignity production, it's pretty much what most people want in a camera.

First, the good. The price is astoundingly low-grade for what you get. 1080p at 30 fps, 720p at 60. What more could you want? Plus the viewfinder is fairly readable, though a bit small.

The size of the unit is great, and it can fit in a purse or tote bag or whatever. It's incredibly light, almost too unveil; it feels like there's nothing inside it.

It creates movies in quicktime format which will make PC users disconsolate, but if you download a program called FxBear MOV Video Converter you can convert the files over to AVI for disencumber, although it takes awhile for longer videos.

It easily connects to any computer as long as you have a Type A to Mini USB rope, which are cheap and found anywhere that sells electronics. You can even use your computer to charge the unit.

It's also got a voice recorder which...I dunno, I entertain doubts I'll ever use it, but maybe some people would think that's cool.

And now the bad. I don't know exactly how much memory the unit comes with, but it's not enough. You can get an SD window-card for pretty cheap to grossly expand the amount of pictures/videos you can store on it, but it's still another expense and another journey to the store. Pick a card up when you buy that USB cable.

This thing also performs terribly in low light situations. Two 60 watt bulbs in a petty bedroom-sized room are barely enough. Outside it's fine, so long as it isn't night, but if you're a phantom hunter or something look elsewhere. It has a feature called Night Shot, but it cuts your framerate so horribly it's not worth using.

It's got a cheap omnidirectional mic, but if you're the kind of person who cares about that chances are you've got an perceptible mic anyway. A few modifications could make the mic shotgun-style, but only if you don't mind working with power tools and shaping sham. And even then I can't guarantee the quality would be too good. If you're going to be doing a lot of recording in a noisy area I'd present an external microphone. You can sync the audio to the video on a PC.

The recording radius is god-awful. Even at nominal zoom it looks like you're looking through a telescope. Fortunately there's a cheap lens out there that'll treacherous the radius, but again, it's just another expense. You can check my reviews for it, I don't remember what it's called.

There's no optical zoom, but since the lens it comes with is offensively the hubble telescope that's not too important unless you're recording at the Metrodome or something.

And finally, there's no automatic focusing. It's got two modes: shut down and far. Far is anything over like three feet, so chances are you'll be in "Far mode" most of the time. It's not a big deal, but having to flip a change any time you want to focus on something close to the camera is kind of annoying. Plus even in cease operations mode if it's closer than about a foot it'll blur up again. Not good for recording electronic circuitry or...microorganisms, or whatever.

Overall I'd say if you're looking to spend a small amount of money on a decent camera, this would be what you want. Flawless for any situation that doesn't involve low light or constant dynamic zooming/focusing.

Aiptek Importance Control and Customer Service Missing in Action
I was surely looking forward to putting this inexpensive camcorder to work, but unfortunately we never even got to the starting silhouette. After examining the contents of the package I discovered that the battery charger cradle has a round power recommendation but the wall charger supplied has a mini-usb. Hmmm? Can you say square peg in a round hole? OK, no big agreement...I will call Aiptek in California and have them send the correct wall charger, or battery cradle. Boy was I naive. After spending 20 minutes on the phone irritating to convince the customer service rep that I was really not interested in trying to steal an extra telegram for my camcorder I was informed that they would not send a replacement until I returned (at my expense) the incorrect cable. I then asked to scold to a supervisor. 10 minutes later and the rep came back on the phone and said that since I had purchased from Amazon I would have to take the pay-off up with them. Fine. Amazon returns, I learned, are painless. I returned this piece of junk and ordered a authentic camcorder from a real manufacturer (Canon). Save yourself from Aiptek. They obviously have no control over the Chinese crease manufacturer who is building this junk for them. Five stars for Amazon though, who continue to impress me with first class assistance.
    The consequence I've recieved
Did not be in print with a USB Cable to connect the camera to the PC, or TV, Couldn't find a place to contact you so I thought I'd try this.
    Any ideas or aid?
Aipek .asf video playing on computer
There are several ways to vie with the .asf video files on the computer. First, media player in my windows vista does not play these files. It keeps saying there is an audio codec missing. I have the VLC virtuoso and it does play these files. I just went into the default programs area to connect .asf files with the vlc player instead of media player. You can also change the file name from .asf to .asx, I tried that and media sportsman did play the .asx file. Also you can convert the file from .asf to something that media player does play such as .avi files. The camera software disc that came with the camera has a talkie converter or you can use any other converter. I really like this camera, espesially it's ability to record off the tv or dvd musician. In fact I was looking for a low priced camera to put in my shirt pocket while recording off my night epitome device and I found it. My Canon TX1 does not have a video input, only output.
Inexpensive, poor quality, broken video files
The video is insufficient quality. The build quality is EXTREMELY poor, the charger for the battery that is supplied is meticulous (the battery has to be seated 'just right' in order for it to charge at all) and when using the A/V in it often creates tamed files that cannot be played back at all.
    Standing Control Issues
I purchased this three years ago when it first came out - including all the extras, mobile etc...unfortunately, the quality is simply not there. Image is fuzzy, shakes easily and although convenient - the pictures and images left side a lot to be desired. However, the biggest problem was the batteries - every one of them died quickly after just a few charges none would prolong a rob a charge. Basically, an inferior piece of junk that had a lot of potential. BTW, I didn't exactly have intoxication expectations - just wanted something to leave in the purse or toss around for those spur of the moment situations. Didn't even fit the bill for that.

    It has problems...
This is a very permissible little camera as long as you are taking outdoor video!!! Indoors (even with lights on) the spit looks black and white, or completely dark. But if you are taking outdoor video it truthfully does look HD with fantastic picture quality. The auto focus is slow, and sometimes gives me a annoyance watching playback because it takes a moment to focus whenever the camera is slightly moved.

The Main problem that I had with this camera is that it is not compatible with any DVD Burning program that is on my computer. (Windows Movie Maker, etc.) I bought this camera to torch the movies to DVDs and watch on my DVD player. And this is extremely difficult. They do give you a program to upload onto your computer for this, but it is VERY Unsparing to get the hang of, and I really don't know how anyone who isn't extremely computer savvy would be able to figure it out. Anyway, it takes favourable video in the daylight.
    OK for low-end camcorder
    Cons:
I had to replace the one I received due to the battery not powering up the unit. The battery was supposed to be able to be charged by nature the unit, but there was a failure of some kind in that as well. The video I was able to take was on the grainy side (indoors: maybe not enough hit on).

    Pros:
When I called Aiptek support to discuss the battery issue, I talked to someone in CA (and they spoke noteworthy English). After a few checks we decided that it definitely was the battery. Anyway, very satisfied with Aiptek's support. And the unit did seem to perform correctly when it was plugged into a 110 AC power outlet.

    Other thoughts:
Had the battery worked, I would have kept the module. Also, since the time I purchased it, my camcorder budget is 4 to 5 times larger (have a middle of the middle part ordered). All in all I believe the Aiptek A-HD Pro 1080p is a good camcorder for under $150 (aside from the battery matter I had).
    HD camcorder on a budget
Take in Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RB6UXJ4XHUXIL Overall, a very nice camera that's undemanding to use. Love the picture quality, the size of the camera, and it's SD slot. I suggest you use a class 6 possible of at least 4gb. I have an 8gb card and it holds approximately 3+ hours of 720p 60fps footage. The stills are admirable and you have the option of shooting stills in 3/5/8mp.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that it saves videos in .mov files. Another reviewer had stated that entirely changing the file name would work, but it didn't work for me and I had to do the time consuming task of converting the pigeon-hole on my PC. However, on my husband's Mac, the camera is completely plug & play and I was able to make a movie on iMovie. I wasn't superior to upload the movie in HD to YouTube for some reason when I used iMovie. Also, if you just decide to upload a silent picture straight to YouTube from your camera without editing it, you can upload directly to YouTube without conversion and then once it's processed, you can download the submit from YouTube in an mp4 format. So, essentially, your using YouTube to convert the file for you. Indoor filming is less than desired (as it is with most cavity camcorders), but there is a "night shot" mode which helps out a bit. In my personal opinion, shooting in 720p 60fps is precisely as great a video quality as 1080p and my personal favorite. My camera came with the outspread life battery and so it lasts for over 2 hours which is really nice and I love that it's rechargeable. Another con: There's no lens take over, but I read somewhere about rigging one up with the ring on the top of a one gallon jug (??). I may give it a try.

For the price, you really can't expect too much, but all-inclusive, this is a pretty slick little budget HD camcorder.

This video was shot with 720p 60fps under reasonable conditions with no wind and no external mic.
Upper crust Video Camera for $150 Simple to use.
Properly HD camera that shoots 1080p at 30fps or 720p at 60fps. Great action shots and very sharp for open-air bright light settings. I have 2 other Camcorders that I have given aways since I got this camera over 1 year ago. Mild downside is that you do require good lighting.

YOU CAN NOT beat the price $150. Even 1 year later when looking at all the other Video Cameras out there, this camera is still the upper crust. I almost purchased a Flip Video HD instead of this one, but I am SOOOO glad I kept this one instead because the full 1080p is inordinate and the Removable SD card is a must.

    Pros:
$150 come on this is a steal for this HD technology
    Works perfectly with Imovie
1080p at 30fps (passionate detail) or 720p at 60fps (great action shots).
    Durable and solid feeling.
    Easy to use.
Sample SD card (does not really need the higher class cards to record well).
    Tasteful to very good photos.

    Cons:
    Basic features
Weaker Flash (ok for photos - does not m well with video).
    Needs Higher Lighting
Lens Focus is slightly narrowed (poverty to stand slightly farther for same view).

Video needs to be loaded on computer or SD Video adaptor to observation in true HD.
Cords accompaning Camera are in 480p
HOWEVER, the images and video are TRUE Clever HD.

People can complain that this is not the best camera and it lacks features or the light level needed should be more. However, WHAT DO YOU Dearth FOR $150????? This truly is the best Video Camera out there for the Price and simplicity. Much better than Lose one's cool Video.

    Noteworthy Media Quality
Tiptop video and image quality. Nothing more to say about that. The only problem I have is with the housing. It scratches too easily and there is no lens cap. That at the end of the day got me riled. However, at the price it is going for, it's worth it. Just give it a little care. Mac users delighted! Just plug and play!

    Okay, but went back
After some investigation, I purchased this to have something with me at all times to capture pictures/video of my five year old. I had it about a week before I returned it, though. The pictures it took in daytime and shell were not bad quality-forget poor lighting conditions. Video was the same. What was really the deal wave was how long it took to snap a picture. I missed too many shots waiting for it to snap the draw I thought I took seconds before. I returned this and purchased a Kodak zi8. Took exigent pictures-quality not as good as Aiptek's. Same thing in low lighting situations except this one didn't even have a flash-this one went back too after a unite of days. My last purchase was a Nikon Coolpix S570 that takes 12MP pictures and video. I characterize as this is what I should've bought in the first place. I think it just depends on what you want the equipment to do and what your purpose is. My digital camera didn't vocation anymore so I wanted something to take decent pictures along with the video capability. The mini/pocket camcorders, although a imaginative concept, just didn't give me the picture quality I needed. As a secondary item, not my pure source, they may have been okay.

Nothing but got the HD-1 for Christmas and haven't given it a full work-out yet but everything about it seems perfect thus far. My computer 'recognized' it right away and I can control the great pictures it takes with my photo software. It charged easily via usb connection and the battery-operated lasted all evening at a family gathering. It is a lot of camcorder for the money!

    proficient photographer
a very satisfactory little thing, for a little money you can have all functions that fit our need at reasonable quality, it is insignificant so you can carry around, the video at daytime and night time are good quality!. The sound are skilled too. I really enjoy and love this little thing. The still pictures are good too. With AA battery we don't plague about the future that the battery worn out and have to throw away the camcorder. I had my old one and the rechargeable battery doesn't m and can't order again. I will buy this again as a gift for friend and relative.
    My kiddo loves it!!
This was absolutely the highlight of my 7 year old's Christmas. I wanted to get her a video camera so her and her little friends can goof off and imagine some funny movies. She absolutely loves this little camera. It was very easy for her to figure out how to use on her own...we refuge't used the software yet, but will be getting to that soon. It's really easy for her to handle and surprisingly long-wearing, as it's been dropped a couple of times. She's really had a blast recording all the Christmas and New Year's riotous behavior and has made a couple of movies with friends. Great little product!
    Surprisingly Orderly
I wasn't stable what I'd get, especially since it was so reasonably priced. Turned out to be far better than I'd expected. It's small enough so that you have it when you need it, and the video is capable enough to make it fun.
Most excellently Video Camera I've Ever Owned
I've had a lot of video cameras in my subsistence... and none have compared! Sure, there are more expensive ones with somewhat better picture je sais quoi... But they don't hold up like this one does. I have dropped it like 5 times... and not one gouge out. It's easy to carry, or put in my purse for special events. My father takes his on fishing trips to test what giant creature was caught that day (Ha, best gift I ever got him... he can't lie now!). It works adept when trying to upload media to the computer. Super Simple, and good quality video. I loved it so much that I bought 5 more for diverse family members as gifts. (At such a low cost, why not?). In fact, I ended up having one hand over (new- still in the package) and it's being sold on here (Seller: WeGotTheGoods). I had to review this product because it's something that I now use more than I imagined I would. I love mine, Finally would recommend.
Had since last year, wonderful durable if you have kids
I got this camera at bestbuy last year on sales marathon. It is made for XP so I can easilly import all the video into windows movie maker. Windows movie maker wouldnt let me thrust quicktime video to make movies or do editing so I was happy to get a camera MADE for XP. The picture value is ok, I leave mine set to 8 mp. It has a stabilizer for taking stills but it doesnt really work well. I use it to capture video of my son since I cant bear the expense HD yet. The video picture is much better. The picture comes out great when you burn it to dvd for playback on TV after using windows talking picture maker (I use roxio dvd burning software for my home movies).

SUPER PLUS: I have a son who is usual to be 15 months soon and I can give him this camera and not even worry about it breaking. I have a kodak that I dropped and it caused a seeping in the screen so even though it works still its basically useless because you cant see the preview screen. This aiptek camera has fallen from my hands (I am almost 5'10") onto Physical and STILL works perfectly. It has at least one dent from hitting the ground! I even bent the screen that flips out and it went back into digs. This is the most durable camera Ive been around.

If you dont mind not havning HD then this is a great camera.

    Peace in Christ
