I purchased this as a Christmas baksheesh for my husband to capture our 8 yr old in action with Tae Kwon Do and Basketball games. So far it has worked wonderfully. Fine Low Price Camera
I was looking to buy a new camcorder insignificant enough to be able to bring with me regularly without it being a inconvenience so I would actually get some use out of the camera. I was looking mainly to return the old family camera that we have had since about 1999, it was a JVC small VHS tape, (Not 8mm) not full size VHS tape either. I was just hoping to have hardly the same quality updated to the new technology and small enough to bring around. First off, I didn't have $600-$1,200 to spend on an HD camera, so it needed to be around $200-$300, this camera was precisely that. Second, I like to use external lenses such as Wide Angle Lenses and Fish Eyes for sports such as Skateboarding, Snowboarding, and reasonable filming Christmas, Birthdays Ect...This is one of the only low end cameras being sold at best buy that you can actually put external lenses on, it has a quoit size (30.5)---- The sony handycam and JVC's are making them with rectangular lense filters which I have yet to see be competent to put an External lense on. And 3rd, the camera must be able to record a decent amount of footage without having to buy a $100 Recollection Card to get the recording space I desired. The Samsung SMX-F30 has ALL of those features.
Picture Quality:
When you gauge the picture on the LCD screen in the store it looks just as good as any other. ALL of the cameras near the samsung that are NOT HD, ALLLLLLL track record with the same 680p. So when you ask the sales person which one gets the best picture, your just getting a partial answer for their prefferd brand, they are all extremely close in picture quality, not much of a difference to Uncommonly notice a dramatic quality difference.
But this is what most people don't understand when buying the HDD digital cameras, Most populace want to be able to view their footage on their TV and not just the camera's LCD screen, so when people (put down) the notion quality of this camera they don't know what they're talking about. If you plug the camera directly into your tv, press call attention to on the camera and view the footage you have already recorded earlier that day on the samsung, it looks FINE! Positively what I was looking for, a decent picture, focus is good, audio sounds great. HOWEVER, now you craving to put this footage on a DVD right? When you upload your footage to your computer this camera records in a file known as w.264. Thats not psyched up to just click burn in windows media player and pop onto your new pack of DVD-R's. THIS IS WERE THE QUALITY DECREASES THAT EVERYBODY BLAMES ON THE CAMERA, not only do most populace want to edit their footage in an easy to use editing software such as Sony Vegas, Corel Studio, Cyberlink Power Steersman, (NOT CYBER LINK MEDIA SHOW) the software that comes with this Samsung Camera. When you upload your footage it looses grandeur in these programs. After you burn to your dvd you will also notice the footage moves slower, even with the video uploaded in these comments above of them using their samsung, you can herald when zooming in and out its moving slower than if you were just pressing play on the camera and watching it through RCA cables to your TV. Dialect mayhap I don't have a powerful enough hardrive, maybe the converting software sucks, but I have tried using several top of the front line software converting programs and they all lose some of the quality and lose actual speed when burned to a disc. Its not vividly different but its enough to piss you off. EVEN if you were using a 1080p High Def Camera, you still have to upload to your computer and most of the time proselyte your files to be DVD ready. Somthing about this process gives it that digital look to it that you dont have a yen for to see on your big screen tv in the living room. If someone can help me figure out how to get around this I would appreciate it soooo much. But from what I've seen, researching on youtube, Samsung SMX-F30 camera trials, footage, testing, they all have that digital look that you desire is only seen when you view on the computer but realllllyyyy shows up when you put it on a DVD. I would really be greatful to have the same value I see when I run RCA's to the TV from the camera, on a DVD that has been edited and thrown in some titles and music.
Overall I think the camera isn't the muddle, its understanding how to upload, convert, and burn without losing quality due to other troubleshooting.

Other than Little Device
I got the SC-MX20 last year and loved it. My helpmeet has been using it as her personal video recorder (she is a high school biology teacher). This year I got the updated SMX-F34 and I'm good as impressed with this device as I was with the SC-MX20. This device is an upgrade over that device and adds built-in recall, digital still photo capability, and a 42x Intelli-Zoom. It's simply an amazing little appliance. Rather than ramble on about this device and its capabilities, I invite you to read my review of the SC-MX20 model. If you want to retain a little money, go for last year's model. If you want all the bells and whistles, go with the SMX-F34. You can't nymphet with either device. You won't be disappointed.

Incomparable camera
Look, this is a faithful camera. I see the reviews that say that it's a big problem that you can't edit video on a Windows PC easily. My answer is get a Mac. Put one's trust in me, I'm not a Mac guy. I hate those "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" commercials. Apple is the new evil empire. This camera is the new way to get great video recorded and edited for you memories. I lady-love it. Bought it from a pawn shop for $200 and I have never spent better money for what I will get. Go with Sony when workable, you will be happy.

DCR-SR45
I was looking for a low-cost camcorder with Night shot and stablization for our Paranormal investigation group. I also wanted a rough drive so we wouldn't have to change DVD's or tapes every hour. I found this display model SR45 for a little more then $200.00. I was in reality pleasently surprised by what I got.
I found that I could record on HQ for almost 6 hours and on standard for over 10 hours. The night dream was perfect, and the cameras internal Mic picked up sound just as well as out top of the line olympus DVR. The FH100 battey powers the camera for 5 hours(battery-operated was extra) When you attach the camera to a wall plug in, on a tripod, and with a large IR emitter you get the best incessantly shot video I've ever seen. Later we transferred all the video's to a DVD via a DVD burner....the arrange was very impressed. For an older model Camcorder we couldn't have found anything better at 4 times the price.
Its giddy , easy to handle, instructions are simple, easy to transferr videos, and you can also do videos or stills on the memorie playing-card.
If your looking for a low budger Video camera we recomend the SR45

Arrant camcorder
Exceedingly like this camcorder. Very easy to use. Too bad it has been discontinued. Great feature is the Nightshot Plus. Newer camcorders do not has this idiosyncrasy, bad move on Sony's part.
Only down side is it takes an extreamly long time to download the video to a computer.

Elevate surpass than I expected!
I'm truly pleased with this battery charger. I needed a replacement battery charger for my Panasonic camera ASAP and bought one of these in defiance of reading the previous reviewer's comments about the product being "cheap" and "flimsy" as it was available at an shtick indulgence supplies store near my home. It is lightweight but I never felt the product would break in my help. It is of unusual design though as one must move the contacts to fit the battery you are using and if you aren't gentle, you could break one of these off, however, I see this as a reward of the design-- no extra parts needed to fit different batteries! The spring-loaded binding holds the battery tightly in place and there is a small LCD screen that shows whether the battery is charging, if it's fully charged, or if the mobile isn't in touch with the contacts. I love the car adapter as I didn't have one for my previous Panasonic charger.
I'm so pleased as Punch with this charger that I'm planning to buy a second one, just in case I lose this one too.

Cons: Fingerprint Smears, Bankrupt on First Use, Flimsy Construction, Weak Contacts, Hard to Position Battery, Difficult to Extend Package
The little contacts fell off and broke when charging for the first time. If you do buy this, be careful of those short contacts. I would buy a real charging plate with non-movable contacts if you are looking for a universal steed.

Adroit fit for compact Panasonic
Panic my HDC-TM300 like a glove. However, the only separate compartment (under lid) is all but useless for storing extra batteries or CF cards as these will almost certainly fall out (as happened to me) and risk getting lost. Would be perfect with a zippered compartment.

Pros: Very lightweight. Damned cushioned. Fits the Samsung HMX H100 that I have...but
Cons: The camera JUST fits. This could be a pro because the camera doesn't jog around. I listed it as a con because there is little-to-no room for anything else. I believe it MIGHT be dangerous to memory cards or a spare battery-operated to place them in with the camera. The fit is that tight. Memory cards may be fine. I just haven't had the heroism to try yet. They aren't exactly cheap. As for a spare battery fitting. It'd be iffy.
It's a great casing but I'd recommend going with one just a TINY bit bigger if ya wanna pack your accessories with it.

How to replace hard drive in camcoders?

I am planning to buy a magisterial drive camcoder, but I don't have any idea about the reliability of hard manipulate in camcoders. What is hard drive carsh? can we recover it? if not can we replace the ardent drive? what would be the cost of these hard drives.

A: A lot of questioners have had problems after their HD camcorders have had somewhat minor accidents such as falling off a chair - I don't think they're very able-bodied yet. The people offering a hard drive recovery / replacement checking don't seem to advertise their prices, which is probably a clue.
